    For myself

    What winter tires you got?
Toyo G-02 on 15 inch steelies

How long you have been using winter tires so far?
    One full winter Season

    Got them this year?
    Got them Last year

How They perform in Snowy Roads :
It drives wicked!.. can go 40-60 km/h on heavy snow with no problem.. have to be slightly careful when the snow is slushy though.

How They perform in Icy Roads :
have to be slightly careful when the snow is slushy or icy though.

How They perform in Dry Roads :
Drives ok, however can't drive more than 140km/h without feeling not safe on it. and it sounds pretty loud driving but then again i have music on lough anyways.

Would you use them again this Season?:
Yes i would, but once these wear out i wouldnt mind trying other brands.

Overall your opinion of this Tire?
This is my first set of winter tires, but so far they are a lot better than all season in the snow, and are well worth the money for me.

    What winter tires you got?
Michelin Arctic Alpin on 14 inch steelies

How long you have been using winter tires so far?
Three full winter seasons (this will be they're 4th)

    Got them this year?
Got them over 3 years ago?

How They perform in Snowy Roads :
    It's meh performance under snow

How They perform in Icy Roads :
Pretty good under slushy and icy.

How They perform in Dry Roads :
They're winters, they're OK on dry roads, I dunno can't compare them to my off winter tires, since these are 195/70 R14 vs 205/55 R16 for the off winter ones.

Would you use them again this Season?:
Sure, but one of the tires wore out more than the others last spring (only bled one caliper so that one caught on more than the other)

Overall your opinion of this Tire?
They're ok. Really quiet and the ride is nice, I hardly noice a change from my off winter tires, compared to the winter ones. The only noticable differnce would be the highpitch whine that you get when driving over water, since there's a crazy number of siphons on the tire.

Question, anyone know what Costco's road hazard warranty is like? Cuz one of my tires that was repaired at home, last season (held up good) but is starting to leak, maybe I can throw it under road hazard? (can't find the reciept though)

How They perform in Snowy Roads : Ok, although we didn't get any deep snow last year.
How They perform in Icy Roads : Predictable, but nowhere near studded performance.
How They perform in Dry Roads : Excellent. Very quiet.
Would you use them again this Season?: Yes
Overall your opinion of this Tire? Excellent buy.

Mounted on ASA JH3 Silver painted rims.

Tire Brand : Pirelli Scorpian (truck & suv)
    Tire Size : 205/65R16 (I think)
How long you had them : 1 year
How They perform in Snowy Roads : Excellent. No problems accelerating or stopping. No T/C or ABS needed.
How They perform in Icy Roads : See above
How They perform in Dry Roads : Nothing special
Would you use them again this Season?: Yes since they're not bald yet.
Overall your opinion of this Tire? A great tire. Meant for Suvs + trucks but we are using it on the minivan.

Tire Brand : Pirelli Winter Carving
    Tire Size : 185/65R14
How long you had them : 1 year
How They perform in Snowy Roads : Excellent. Had no problems going through deep snow up in newmarket, even after coming to a complete stop. Despite not having t/c or abs on the car, never slipped/skidded once.
How They perform in Icy Roads : See above. The tread has an aggressive tread which is suppose to bite down on the ice.
How They perform in Dry Roads : No comment.
Would you use them again this Season?: Yes. Plenty of life left.
Overall your opinion of this Tire? Great tire for the price. They are studdable for those who live where they are allowed.

    Tire Brand : Michelin X-ice
    Tire Size : 155/80R13
How long you had them : 2 weeks
How They perform in Snowy Roads : No snow yet...
How They perform in Icy Roads : No ice yet...
How They perform in Dry Roads : Good. Although there is a lot of road noise (may be becaues they are new). Very squeeky as well when maneuvering slowly.
Would you use them again this Season?: It's their first season.
Overall your opinion of this Tire? Rated #1 by Consumer Report Nov. 2005. They are pricey for passenger tires but are still much cheaper than high performance winters.

Tire Brand : Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50

    Tire Size : 205/50/16

How long you had them : 2 years. this is the 3rd winter

How They perform in Snowy Roads : Excellent, bites very well

How They perform in Icy Roads : Could lose grip if speed is higher. I once almost hit another car when angle parking in an empty parking lot

How They perform in Dry Roads : Excellent, just a little noisy.

Would you use them again this Season?: Definitely.

Overall your opinion of this Tire? Excellent winter tire for prairie winter(bitter cold with lots of snow ), not as good a "spring tire" because of the icy roads here during spring time. Works excellent though with the slushy road between later winter and early spring .

    Brand: Hankook Icebear w300
    Size: 225/40/18
    Snow road: under average
Icy road: u gonna die for sure if u drive over 50 km/h
    Dry road: ok
    Use again: No choice
Good tire for wet road, definitely not good enough for winter. I m not sure about the performance of hankook, maybe cause i use 18'' and my car is rear wheel drive

    What winter tires you got?
Pirelli W210 Sottozero, 205/50R17 on stock wheels
Newly released for this season, so there aren't many reviews out there.

How long you have been using winter tires so far?
    Last winter.

    Got them this year?
Just installed. First season on them. Had a set of Toyo Snowprox S-950 before. Blew two of them driving over a pothole 2 days ago.

How They perform in Snowy Roads :
Have yet to dry on snowy roads. Will update.

How They perform in Icy Roads :
Have yet to drive on ice.

How They perform in Dry Roads :
Fantastic. You would never know they were winter tires. Very quiet, tracks straight, and extremely grippy. I'd go as far as to say they're at least 90% as good as my W-rated UHP all-seasons.

Would you use them again this Season?:
Just go them installed this season.

Overall your opinion of this Tire?
This may possibly be the top performance-oriented winter tire. If it performs half as good in the snow as it does in the dry - it'll trump the current champ - the Dunlop Wintersport M3.

Tire Brand : bridgestone blizzack lm22s
    Tire Size : 18 (225/45 i believe)
How long you had them : starting the second winter
How They perform in Snowy Roads : above average
How They perform in Icy Roads : above average
How They perform in Dry Roads : above average
Would you use them again this Season?: already doing so!
Overall your opinion of this Tire?
the first winter i stuck with the stock tires on my rx8...huge mistake. i would get stuck in even light snows. last year i got these and was able to make it around the city during heavy snow. theyre never going to give you the comfort of an awd care, etc. but theyve been very good for me. theyre definately performance tires on the dry, but there is a noticable difference b/tw them and the summer potenzas, which is to be expected. i got the 18s so they fit on the stock wheels and they work great, my only complaint is that theyre loud. a lot of other rx8 owners have had success with the dunlop m3s, but ill stick with my blizzacks!

    Tire Brand : Kumho KW-17
    Tire Size : 225/45-17
How long you had them : About a year, tried on 3 MBs, total about 20K km
How They perform in Snowy Roads : Not good at all compare to my previous Arctic Aplin...got stuck few times
How They perform in Icy Roads : Pretty good, work well with traction control
How They perform in Dry Roads : Def. a set of sport tires. Strong sidewall provide decent cornering ability
Would you use them again this Season?: Time to get a new set of tires after 25K (est.) after this winter
Overall your opinion of this Tire? good performance for reasonable price

Mid Winter Update! Just finished my winter driving school a few weeks ago so I have a better idea of how these tires perform now.

    Tire Brand : Michelin X-ice
    Tire Size : 155/80R13
How long you had them : 4 Months
How They perform in Snowy Roads : Awesome on snow, whether it be packed or deep powder. Braking is no problem at all, even without abs.
How They perform in Icy Roads : Weaker than I expected on ice despite the "X-Ice" name. Maybe they meant "no ice" caues they're not just really meant for it. Tried driving on an ice field and they do slide quite a bit.
How They perform in Dry Roads : Good. Almost no difference from an all season during the summer.
Would you use them again this Season?: It's their first season.
Overall your opinion of this Tire? Great tire for the price. Awesome on snow. Bit weak on ice. I'd definately buy them for any non high performance car.

How They perform in Dry Roads : only thing that feels different is the grip on turns but also cause my A/S are 17s
Would you use them again this Season?: definately

Tire Brand: Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 winter performance tire

    Tire Size: 225/50/16", Load rating: 92, H-speed (210km/h / 130mph) rated

How long you had them: On my 6th winter season on my '99 Pontiac Grand Am SE2. 26K km / 16.2K miles. & still have 6-7/32" tread left (started with 10/32")

How They perform in Snowy Roads: Not as good as a real winter snow tire.

How They perform in Icy Roads: Above average. The tire tread has alot of sipes to help you out. (Considering it is a studless winter tire.)

How They perform in Dry Roads: Excellent

Would you use them again this Season ?: Yes, but this my last season with them. Deep Snow traction is not as good anymore.

Overall your opinion of this Tire ? Great perforamnce winter tire.
This is not your regular "Blizzak" tire, it does not use the "Tube Multicell Compound" in the 1st half of the tire tread (& an all-season rubber compound underneath it for the rest) like the Blizzak WS-50.
Handles really well on dry pavements at higher speeds.
The rubber does not burn/wear out very fast in dry pavement conditions & is long lasting.
Excellent in the cold dry pavement or in the wet (the high silica content tire loves the wet roads.).
    Good on ice.
Not so good in deep snow.
& the tire design is a little dated since it has been out since like '99 (?).

Next winter season will be getting a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi winter tires.

Tire Brand:Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi winter tire

    Tire Size: 205/65/15", Load rating: 99 (XL), R-Speed (190km/h / 118mph) Rated

How long you had them: 2nd winter season on my Mom's '98 Pontiac Sunfire GT. 2.3K km / 1.4K miles last winter season

How They perform in Snowy Roads: Awesome, they have a 11.9/32" tread depth when new

How They perform in Icy Roads: Execellent (for a studless winter tire). It has alot of sipes in the tire tread design.

How They perform in Dry Roads: alittle bit swirmy at highway speeds (compared to my Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 winter performance tire).

Would you use them again this Season?: Yes.

Overall your opinion of this Tire?Love the tires.
& they look really cool too (if you are behind me at a traffic light). My Mom gets ricers trying to "race" here at stoplights lol
Alittle hard to get/find, but well worth the effort to find them.
I think maybe that the rubber is burning/wearing alittle fast; but last winter was warm & mostly dry pavement. I think we used like almost 2/32" of tread last winter season.
Where does the name Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi come from?
The name refers to rape seed oil - silica compound, rain & snow & ice properties and the R speed category. The tyre is a fullbodied winter tyre and therefore genuine Hakkapeliitta quality.
Those Finnesh people know how to make winter tires, Nokian Hakkapeliitta winter tires =
If anyone ever finds their media video at their year-round testing/proving grounds in the Arctic Circle, it is so cool to watch.
