When I was first starting out with the technique, I tried to put two full-length MP3 songs on my phone. Apparantly the A970 doesnt like this length, and they wont play on the phone. (They show up in the Get-it-now menu, but just dont play). My dilemna is that I cant delete these now! In BitPIM if I try to delete it, it will delete in the program, but they stay on my phone. And will show up again on the next connect. I've tried overwriting them with a smaller/edited version of the song, still doesnt play. Tried, renaming them. Does nothing.

Any clues on how to get rid of these 'dead weight' mp3s that dont play?
When you view a ringtone in GIN, the left softkey becomes "Erase". Have you tried just doing that?

I've experimented with this. You can ERASE rintones that show up in GIN > Tunes and Tones with the left softkey if they as are still installed on your phone

If you have a ringtone that won't delete, don't do it through BitPim, do it through GIN > Tunes & Tones > Left-Softkey. The ringtone must still be on the phone.

If it's not on the phone. You need to write a file to either /mm/mvg/drm or /melodies/my/drm depending on where the tone originally was. The file needs to have the same name as the one you can't delete. I don't know if capitalization counts. I'm guessing, no. Once the file is back on the phone, delete it through the phones interface, not through bitpim.

    Done!

On a A970 (I don't have a 850), Wallpapers are stored in /mm/mvg/pg/Default Album and videos are stored in /mm/mvg/vg/Default Album

FYI I should have wallpapers for the A970 full enabled in Bitpim real soon now. IE you'll be able to use the Wallpaper tab in bitpim. I have the algorithm fully working, I just need to learn BitPim's Python code and the specifics of the Wallpaper tab.

If you want know how to write wallpapers through Bitpim in the mean time, PM me and I'll let you know.

resetting your phone to it's defaults just might fix all your problems, in addition to deleting all your contacts and such.

It doesnt delete your contacts but it wont delete the file either. It'll just be pesky to set all your little settings over again. In essence, it does nothing.

I agree. I would limp with whatever phone I had for a few more months. The Samsung Blade is in the pipeline and PhoneScoop and MobileBurn.com had a few more phones lining up. The Pink RAZR for Verizon comes out within 30 days.
