As we all know, it's not so much the camera but the photographer himself that makes a photo great

No two opinions about that.

Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them; you would need to be comparing and then looking at more detail than perhaps most people do when looking at a photo.

Well, I can't.

The auto-resize is enhanced compression. JPEG is compressed anyway, but 12MP is a large file. The auto-resize compresses further using a rather clever algorithm which doesn't degrade quality too much.

Meaning it's better to use the 12M setting rather than the 12M auto-resize, if one is convinced one can spot any differences between the two.

how big are the 12meg files? i was shocked to see the sh-06a 5mp files the same size as my 903sh,with some of the sizes being smaller

The first one is 2.97MB and the second is 3.25MB, or was it the other way round...

I had three other friends with me and though we did manage to get out before the fan zone was declared an arrest zone, I genuinely felt threatened for the first time ever. The third picture is the smoke from burning police cars.

It's really part of human nature, isn't it, the urge to defy established order. And this urge is looking for a vent as it builds up. I guess people in Canada/the US must live a very satisfied way of life, and having nothing truly important to riot about, it's a sports game that acts as a suitable pretext... Look at Greece, it's a completely different situation there and the people are protesting for something that really matters, or does it...

Anyway, this isn't the place for such discussions, sorry pals

Pretty much. Was told by many sources that the same group that caused a mess at 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the G20 Summit in Toronto are also behind this riot too.

Oh well. Vancouver's reputation is ruined anyhow.

even where i am in New Brunswick, Canada... i tried to take a picture in a convenience store that sells asian snacks, withing 30 seconds someone came over getting mad at me for having my keitai out D:

I'd wager they were feared that terrorists were now using non-Arabic people for intelligence gathering!

The fireworks were shot from a hotel about 600 metres away from us, and about 300 metres down (we were on top of the hill). The church belfry is about 200 metres from us.
White balance:Tungsten / ISO: 1600 / Standard exposure but the ISO setting disables the anti-shake.

This photo was not edited. the file size already original. (854x480).
I choose that size because if i use 8megapixel will quickly drain the battery.
