I own both. I was happy with my 850 and now even happier with the 700. Same cool features packed in a smaller piece. Go with the 700. Enjoy
Rick.

I just got my HS850. It's not as loud as my H605, but it's louder than my HS820. It's very floppy on my ear and it bends the top of my ear away from the top of my head but its comfortable. I just have to get used to it tapping my cheek when I turn my head. Tomorrow I'll try it in the car and see how it sounds with the background noise.
I use to have the HS850 and I had the same problem, it doesn't fit that well on my ear. I can tell you now, the background noise is not that good. Its a good headset, but to me the H700 is better.Originally Posted by loooney2ns

I think I'll eventually wind up with the H700. It's a process for now. I bought the HS850 because the deal was just too good-$20.98 shipped and I had it in a day!Originally Posted by RickServ
I also wanted to try it because some of the posts here have stated its the only headset designed for CDMA phones.
Does anyone know how to reset the H700? I had the directions on how to do it once before but deleted them.
in regards to some experiences of callin up motorla and changin urs to a newer version, heres my token of experience dedicated to my fellow canadian HOFers. okay well jsut so that you guys would no..
i live in canada and im with TELUS. i called motorla today and after about 2 hours on the phone (talkin to very friendly people) they said that they would want me to SEND them back the H700 first and then they'd send me a new model of H700. (this is after i talked to a rep from accessories department and explained about the statiscs issue i was experiencing.
however when i asked if they could have my credit card and send me the item and then i send mine in, they said she is not authorized (capable) of doin that!
anyhow, worked fine with me but wen it came down to my address, she said oh sorry, we only handle american residents! she transferred me to another rep who was "supposed" to be accountable for canadian part and after another 20 mins, she came back and said "appareantly canadian citizens would have to deal with their service providers as they're our reps in canada! and after all, it is TELUS!" OH GOD! did i hit a dead end or wut??!
so i called telus, (KNOWING THEY WUD B RUDE AND JUST SAY NO!) but crossin my fingers, as i thought, the rep was realli rude and as soon as she heard i bought it off net she was like "oh sorrie but wen u purchase things over net, u shud always keep in mind that u're voiding the warranty!?"
wtf.. okay. tha was wired... this is the case where i CLEARLY told all motorola reps that i DID indeed purchase the item from net and they all said "of course! the warranty applied to it still!"
i donno guys, but if u live in canada and want to exchange ur messed up H700, forget about it since u'd have to deal with a bunch of **** heads at telus! who don understand crap.
Do you know anyone in the States whose address you could use? It would take longer, but it would work.
hm.. not a bad idea..
but then i'd have to send it to U.S, they send it to motorola, and then ship it bak to canada again when it comes.. :S
Just do yourself a favor and return it and buy a plantronics or jabra. Both work WAY better for audio quality (in and out). I am using a Plant 510 and it is a night and day difference better than either h700 (A or B) or the H605. NOw the motorolas pair up feature wise a little better and the controls are nicer but audio sucks pondwater and after all what good is anything else if audio sucks?
You could skip one step and ship it directly from Canada. You only need a U.S. return address.Originally Posted by bodobiya

I think im going to get the h700 the sliver one that they have at radio shack it looks sweet.
ibook 12inch, 15gig ipod 3rd gen, 30 gig 5th gen ipod
Has anyone purchased a "B" version at a retailer like BestBuy?
i got the hs850....sucks balls. The call quality on my end seemed to be good but the person on the other end kept telling me i sounded like i was driving on the highway and there was a lot of wind noise. This is coming from a desk at home!
I've got it paired up to my v3c from bell. I'm gonna pick up a logitech BT headset as my friends have had good experiences with them. Tried everything to make the HS850 work but nothing. By the way it is a B version. A lot of the times, it just sounds like it is echoing to the other person and they can hear their own voices. So the HS850 gets a big two thumbs down from me.
But reading other's reviews on the product, seems to be good for them.
