    best camera phone?

hey all I searched around but didnt really find what I was looking for so I was wondering if I could get some opinions...

I want to get a camera phone that can take macro pics and good stills. multiple resolutions is a plus...video isn't as important. Also I want these for taking quick shots (sometimes action...I play paint ball and would like to get snapshots from the sidelines when I'm not playing).

    ty all.

SE W800i is the best phone for ur needs.

No phone camera can take quick action shots. it'll be blurry for sure.

Yea, no camera phone is going to help you with quick shots. Your best bets are the SE W800i, SE K750i or the Sharp 903

I don't know... I've tried a Samsung SCH-M339 (I think, but the Korean version that WILL work in America is called something else) and it does pretty well, a little better than the Sharp 902, but it's definitely expensive to buy, and it's a bit hard to activate nowadays- Verizon requires all new phones to have E911, which this doesn't.

ok looking at the w800i and it looks awesome...got a question though. Whats the difference between the w800i and the w800? The w800 is the one listed for sale on the US page but it looks like it is the same.

also, whats this about it only working on 850mhz band? I'm not up on phones but have heard this is only bad for cingular...I'll be using it w/ verizon though so it wont matter right?

same phone. the "i" means nothing in this context. W800i = W800

Whoa, wait a minute, you can't use any of the phones people have listed with verizon, they're CDMA, most of the phones people have posted are GSM. They are completely incompatible. All verizon phones must be CDMA and another poster said they must have e911.

Look at the samsung a970 if you're going with verizon

    doh...back to the drawing board.

edit - the a970 looks sweet, I'm curious if you can unlock the bluetooth and also use recordings as ringers. I searched and saw a thread about using mp3s as ringers so I am assuming you can do the same with recordings...didnt see anything about the bluetooth though (unlocking it for file transfers and whatnot, I have seen cracks for the moto e815 for this wondering if there are any for this phone).

again ty to everyone for the help.

If you can use mp3's, then you can just record an mp3 (if you wanted the phone to play your voice or something) and then load it onto the phone

    quick shot option

I use the PalmoneTreo 650 and have used the video camera function to record short clips, then use screen or other print functions to get single clips. You can then edit them, blow-up, crop or enhance as you wish. Print them on a high quality photo printer and they look 100% professional.

Don't confuse the Handspring 600 with the PalmOne or now Palm devices. The devices from Palm, while they still have a few bugs, they still have Handspring employees, are more of a Palm quality device. The longer they are held to Palm standards the better the divices will get. Key word, Palm standards, unfortunately Palm is no longer running Palm!

Yea, I find that EXTREMELY hard to believe considering the Treo 650 has a vga camera. There is no way in hell any pics that come from it look 100% professional
