    Damn it Italy (moto v360)

Well i bought a phone From Ebay, it was 200 dollars (The moto V360)

Turns out it was from europe, The italian TIM service id the brand. The language is itallian.

I was wondering is u could use T-mobile with this phone and change the language to english.

    probably 900/1800/1900 band

is any firmware to change all of it to an d english (USA) version ?

Eee... There isn't much in the way of flashes or flexes for the V360 just yet, at least none in major distribution.

I don't think anyone has determined for sure if 850 can be activated by flash or not.

The phone would need to be unlocked in order to work with T-Mobile. Does TIM lock their phones? I don't know, you may need to test it by trying a Tmobile or Cingular SIM, if that sim works, then the phone is unlocked. Unfortunately, its probably locked to the carrier.

Hate to say it, but you probably should have just bought the phone with a one year contract extension from a place offering a rebate, like Amazon or Letstalk.. 200$ for a phone that might be locked and may be stuck with useless 900 band (40% of Tmobile coverage is 850, with all their roaming partners), or a free after rebate phone that requires a one year contract extension... I chose the free after rebate...

Anyway, its possible some people are aware of flashes available for the V360, but you may have to just wait until they become available. In the meantime, try to see if its unlocked by trying out a tmobile or cingular SIM.

    good luck,

    peace,
    sam

Imma go to the biggest sim card place ever (school) lmao so i will use my friend's sims and see if its unlocked.

The problem was i had a Samsung t309 and lost it without insurance, so all the phoens wouldn't have rebates

Hey, good news! Now you'll just have to see about enabling 850 if you want full tmobile coverage.

Seedling - Sounds like you bought from the same seller I did I am still waiting for my US charging adapter. As you seem to have an unlocked phone all you need is T-Zones settings (readily available on-line or via Cust Care/Data Group) and something such as P2K Commander which has drivers to use the USB port of the computer to charge the phone (I'm still working on being able to read the phone files, hoping P2K Tools will help)

Related: Anyone know if/how to use AIM or other IM services. The phone has "tim cafe" which apperas to be the italian equiv, but it allows you to change all the settings and servers and such. (I'd love to be able to IM w/o using SMS message, I know it still uses SMS but it's easier w/the interface rather then text based

Otherwise the phone probably works better then a locked/branded version I'd guess.

PS If you need, shopoem.com has a travel/home charger combo for about $15 bucks maybe less or just a travel charger for about $5 (plus s/h). Just look up the V3 the accessories are compatible. (I went out and bought a case and travel charger local since I only have the USB cable in the meantime and don't want to be w/o phone due to dead battery.)

DOH! Mine came w/none of that.. (Can you PM me with the seller id? I'm guessing it's the same seller (who has atleast 2 id's)). Need to see if mine should have more (and when my US adapter will come :-\).

What SW did you use? Using P2K it has drivers to charge the phone, but it won't login to the phone (it tells me connected as an at device but I can't bring it up in P2K commander or P2K Menu unless it doesn't like the USB for datat just charging?)

Tmobile native coverage is all 1900, yes, but 40% of their total coverage is provided through roaming agreements with various 850 providers. So yes, you don't need 850 to be on Tmobile, but you are really shooting yourself in the foot if you don't have it.

Take a look at compass.t-mobile.com to look at their coverage map, which now lists most (but not all) of their 850 roaming agreements, it covers huge swaths of the country.

I recently took a cross country trip, and without 850, I would have been out of service through most of the trip, but with 850 I didn't lose service once!

    peace,
    sam

Well I can't even get P2K to recognize the phone (beyond USB charging). Now subsequently I find out Instant Messaging is not available and more so Voicemail indicator is not supported (none/zilch) alll I get is a weird From:_@ b/c the system is trying to set an indicator and can't. You bought from another seller then I (perhaps ITALY is the cheapest place for the phone.). I have requested refund/return info from my seller as I feel it was mis-represented. (says 100% Compatible w/T-Mobile which is FALSE) also no where in the listing does it even hint that the phone would be branded from a foreign carrier as I would have thought twice about it (I can buy unlocked unbranded for 241USD I think from Tiger Direct and at this point would have saved a lot of headache IMHO). I don't know if it's my phone or what but since I can't even get the phone to read I'm at wits end. (since T-Mobile barely supports non T-Mo handesets they can't help much.) Anyone have any other ideas in the mean time?

    Thanks!
