Has anybody else notice their RAZR producing a higher pitched whirring or whistling noise during a phone call?
This is a different issue than the backlight/LCD noise as it occurs independently of that. Also, the other party can hear this noise. It happens intermittently and the duration of the noise varies. It will go away and come back in the same call. Any ideas? I've tried the newest firmware and the one that originally came on the phone from T-Mobile. It still has the original T-Mobile flex on it though.
whaat shall we edit it to? It is not teh earpiece making the whistling noise, it is the phone itself I think. Hence the BUZZING in the older v3's and now this WHISTLING on the new ones

Have not had any complaints about the noises you are experiencing other than when the mic gain is too high and I have changed using the SEEMs and fixed the issue...am I getting this right that you guys both have black RAZRs? and are they true Cingular black RAZRs or Euor RAZRs? Thanks for the info...
I have a silver T-Mobile USA branded RAZR. I haven't edited my SEEMs at all. I did flash the phone to the newest firmware but the problem was there before. It doesn't happen on every call.
ive been having a whirling type sound too...but its when i plug my razr to charge..it'll make a whirling sound for about 5 seconds, the exact length of time as the the screen dims, but then afterwards there is a distinct sound coming from the razr...its off and on but its there...anyone else have this problem?
Anyone know if Motorola is aware of this problem? I called T-Mobile and they told me they are aware of the problem, but as of yet, there is no solution to the problem.
They told you they were aware of the problem? That's surprising to me.
Did they offer to exchange your handset? Are you going to? Is there any case ID I can refer to when I call in?
No ID, but they did charge for shipping for the exchange 9 - 15 dollars, but they recommended me to talk to the Manufacturer, I haven't yet. I don't want to pay for the exchange, they told me there are no guarantees the new one will even work like it should, so I didn't have it replaced. I will call Motorola and find out what they can do for me.
