I recently bought a v635 unlocked. However I am having major reception problems. I also own a v600. The weird thing is my v600 works fine in areas where the v635 will not work. My v635 is also going into “Emergency call only” mode and often it is impossible to make / receive calls w/ only one bar of signal where my v600 is getting 3in that same area. If I walk directly outside it is the same problem until I walk like a block away (I Live in NYC) then I get really go reception. I also get good reception in other locations but not others… it just is not consistent. I figured it may have some thing to do w/ ESN.. do enabled it… I don’t know if it was in my mind.. but I think there was a slight improvement, but it could be in my head.
Would this be a flash or flex issue? If so what flash/flex should I use? Or is my phone damaged?
Here is the info on my phone:
Flex: SE188AXXP10B9
S/W: R474_G_08.48.24R_A
DSP S/W: 62282800
hey,
what is my network jingle? Also I did the master clear, but no improvments. My v600 phone is showing full signal strengt while the v635 is showing 1-2 bars in the same location. Any other suggestions?
Three months ago I started having problems getting a good signal from my home location ~1 bars (roaming gave better signal). Cingular indicated they were working on local cell tower.
About three weeks ago, my signal stength improved to ~ 4 bars. But now when I make calls, the incoming reception is great but outgoing reception is awful. Contacts tell me they can hardly hear me or can only hear every other word. This happen when I make or recieve calls.
When I use the speakerphone there seems to be no problems with incoming/outgoing reception.
Note: didn't have this issues before tower upgrade - This leads me to believe it's a Cingular issue but speakerphone works SWTF?
Cingular is 'investigating'.
Has anyone else experienced similar problem?
Could a 'seem' edit fix this?
Is my Flex version ok?
I'd like to review options before sending phone back to Motorola for possible repair work.
i had this issue shortly after i got my 635, then it fixed itself. then months later it got no reception again. i sent it back, got a new one from motorola directly under warranty and it took about a week for that one to go from awesome to unusable reception. my only fix is to use my v360 instead. there are many other posts about this with no resolution. my boss had this phone with the same issue and got a replacement, but uses a 360 instead as well. the 635 sucks.
