Introducing 7-Eleven SpeakOut Wireless in Canada

Hey guys.

My wife has a Speakout wireless Nokia 1600 phone.

I didn't know her phone didn't have bluetooth, so now I need one with it.

I was thinking of just buying any ebay phone, like a Motorola Razr V3i, or something similar. She doesn't need anything fancy like an Iphone lol.

But as long as I buy an unlocked phone that uses sim cards, I should be ok, correct? Does it matter if its only dual band, or quad? Will both work?

Am I correct that S/O does not use 3G at all? Thanks for any help.

I'm on Rogers, but I just make/receive calls. I don't have any data plans.

I recommend you not to be confused by all the jargons like "dual-band", "qaud-band"... The bottom line: GO for any unlocked GSM handset supports GSM 850 and 1900 band. Turn off 3G mode if the handset can do it, Rogers has barred MVNOs like SpeakOut Wireless to access 3G network (even though there are some exceptions here and there with the misconfigured switches).

If your wife is going to use the voicemail service, you may need to manually enter the voicemail box in the handset. Call customer service for the local voicemail centre access number and check the user manual of you handset to set it up.

if i have an unlocked 4g iphone, and buy a speakout prepaid sim card/ cut into microsim, will this work with that 10 UMB plan? thanks
