Darn. That is a feature I need, too. Personally, I won't purchase a PDA in the hopes of getting a key feature to work via a hack.
I'll have a 1/2 decaf with an almond mocha biscotti, please!

To clarify, you can not initiate VC from the BT headset by pressing the button on the headset. They way it currently works is you hit the VC assigned button on the device, once VC activates it then transfers to the BT headset where you can give commands to the device.Originally Posted by timGSU
i just called CS and they knew nothing of the $100 off instantly if you sign up for unlimted data plan
but you can not activate the voice command from the lets say jabra 250v by pressing the button
That is correct withoutOriginally Posted by cyphernet
1.) applying a registry edit aka XDA forums (and no clue if it works with the 700w)
2.) MS releasing a patch
3.) MS releasing a new version that supports this.
I currently have a Treo 600. I use SnapperMail to connect directly to an IMAP server every X minutes, and download/sync the messages. Does an email client with similar features exist for Mobile OS 5 for PocketPC?
Thanks,
Erik
Does anyone know if the Treo 700w will be released to Best Buy on Jan 5th like all other channels?
Would be great if any BB employees could let us know whether stores are starting to get shipments of the 700's in, or if any are expected. Best Buy started selling the Razr's early for those stores that had them in, so they might do that again if they get them.Originally Posted by rkdiddy
Also, I'd rather buy it there than the Verizon store, since A) BB retail price tends to be a bit less and B) I can get RewardZone points.
How soon did Best Buy have the RAZRs in relation to when most VZW corporate stores got theirs in stock? Sooner? or Later?
B/c I do think that will be a better litmus test than guessing.
Any Best Buy employees, please feel free to chime in!
Good point. They may even give a gift card as a rebate like Circuit City did when the Razr came out.Originally Posted by Zorn
Hi all -
Just as another data point, today I visited a Verizon company-owned retail store and talked to the manager. At first, he gave me the apologetic "we don't know" when I asked him about the 700w. I told him that the rumor was a release yet this week, and he kinda mumbled "yes, within two weeks is a pretty good bet" - wink, wink, nudge, nudge. So I said, "OK, let's try it this way: I'll say a date, and you tell me if that might be a good day for, say, buying a phone from Verizon." He nodded, so I said "How about Jan 5?" He smiled and replied, "Yeah, that might very well be a good day." Took my name and number, and promised to call me "as soon as we get them, whenever that may be."
I did ask him about tethering the 700w to a laptop for EVDO access, as you can with the Blackberry 7130 for an extra $15/month. He looked it up in his computer, and said
there was no mention of tethering with the 700w, so doubted it would be offered as that would be a pretty major feature. Really too bad - that's a huge advantage for the 7130 - but as he said, we simply won't know for sure until the phones arrive.
He also confirmed that the price would be $500 on a 2-year agreement, but that he expected the advanced device discount would be continued and that the final price for new subscribers would be "in the $300-$400 range". Read into that what you will; I'm not sure if he was suggesting there would be a promotional price lower than $400 or not.

We were selling our RAZRs as soon as we got them in stock. It was the day it was available on their website. I looked in our system and wasnt able to find anything about the Treo 700. FYI, not all BBY stores carry all models as other BBY stores. It all depends on the market. Heck my store finaly got in 650s in July while other BBY stores around the country have had them.Originally Posted by crashx22

Thanks for the heads up!
