Has anyone contacted or ordered the 700w through b2b relationships? I am wondering how the b2b price compares with the regular retail price listed in the first post. Anyone know?

Can I just say, as we get closer to the launch of teh 700w how excited I am getting Just to quench everyone's thirst (or make it worse ) here is a link to the users manual. I spent some time reading through it tonight and there are a bunch of really need things they did with this device.

    http://www.bargainpda.com/assets/tre...ser_manual.pdf

    Tip #1:
When you double click the shift key it puts the keyboard into caps lock mode AND adds an indicator on the screen. This was only available via registry edit on other WM5 devices

The same goes with the Function button, double tap it and it will lock and put an icon on the screen so you can always know if you are locked in eiter of the 2 modes.

    Also..
Tip #2: (straight from the manual)
    USING EXPANSION CARDS
The expansion card slot on your smartphone lets you add SD cards and MultiMediaCard cards to extend the storage capacity of your smartphone. For example, expansion cards can store pictures and videos, MP3 audio files, email attachments, games, and much more.
Your smartphone is also compatible with most SDIO cards—which let you add accessories, such as a Wi-Fi® network card, to your smartphone. Expansion cards are sold separately.

If you need WiFi on this device, pick yourself up one of the SDIO WiFi cards and you can have the best of both worlds, EVDO or WiFi

It still doesn't mean anything. Under the release date on Phone Scoop, it says "tentative". I called my Verizon B2B rep today and he (off the record) confirmed the January 5th Launch date.

I will be going online, or calling them directly EARLY thursday to place my order. I don't think any of the VZW stores here will have them in stock quite yet.

I'll call around tomorrow to see if they know if they're getting them in, or if they have heard anything.

    Don't Understand ???

I Don't Understand the attraction of the 700w. Is this just a fancy toy with a bigger screen for games? Does it do something meaningful? Is it because of EVDO? What does the 700w do that wasn't there before?

Not trying to start a flame war, just don't get it.

The 700w combines WM5.0 with EVDO and the Treo form factor. This is either exciting/important/worth buying or it isn't.

I don't think it's a fancy toy for games though.

WM5.0 integrates very well with MS Exchange servers and, in my opinion, is a more modern OS than the current PalmOS which means that I find it better to use. There are certainly some aspects that aren't as good but overall I like it better.

The big thing - for me at least - is EVDO. After using it, 1x is just not usable. So that's mainly it for me.

The Treo form factor (i.e. candy bar phone with usable keyboard) has been very popular. Since it has Windows Mobile 5 it will be able to easily sync with Outlook and also work with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 so companies or individuals will be able to configure it to receive email from Exchange server without needing to purchase additional server software like the Blackberry enterprise server. Plus throw in the EVDO capability for faster data access. All of these factors contribute to the attraction.

Does anyone know - or could point me to a thread - regarding whether or not Pocket Outlook or a 3d party program can handle multiple exchange servers?

    Talking

    Unoffical from my b2b...

    1 year price: $479.99
    2 year price: $349.99

The two year price reflects the $100 advanced device discount rebate, 1 year is not eligible.

No other information could be provided as of yet and I'm not sure if the $100 "advance device discount" is the same as the data you mention from 6700 forum...
