This isn't necessairly true. You have to look at the voltage of the charger to make sure it is compatible. The WM devices that I have had in the past all use a 5V---1A LPS charger, even though it was Mini USB using a lower charger, ie RAZR 550mA charger caused the phone not to charge properly.

I think Treonauts has been testing the various 650 accessories (including the car chargers) and noting if they are compatible or not.

ANy ideas if the B2B will let you do an early upgrade? I called the customer service rep and got "You're eligible for an early upgrade with a $20 fee. Oh wait, never mind, no you're not because you haven't been on a plan thats $59.99 or higher."
GUess I"ll have to wait for my B2B rep to call me back.

On another note.. I was playing with the Treo 650 upgrade on our b2b site and it did NOT give me the $100 discount for the advance device unless I selected it as a "purchase new service" rather then upgrade existing service!! Probably another one to wait for the B2B rep on..

Any thoughts on either of these potential hiccups?

I think that the reason we are getting so many stories as to if this phone is coming out tommorrow, is due to a number of reasons. One of which is the fact that the employees are not supposed to disclose this info, the other could be that because verison is such a large company it is possible that not everyone knows about it. I have definately got answers from verizon as early as this morning stating that it "will be in stores and for sale online tomorrow january 5th." However I have also got reps that have told me that they have never even heard of this phone and I must be crazy to think that there is a "Windows Mobile Treo" being released because "Palm and Microsoft don't get along" YMMV! So I guess we will see tomorrow!

That's probably true. Poor info sharing is a symptom of a large corporation with many diverse employee groups. If this was in-store, I would have taken the rep over to the nearest laptop in the store (all the stores I've seen have them setup to display the current VZW website) and show them the "Coming Soon" page.

No it's true. Treonauts has a pre-production and as I stated everything is the same.

Also, if you're going to call your local store call after 2p today. They will have received their shipments by then and be able to tell you if they will have it tomorrow or not. Some stores received them yesterday (i.e. how VZN E had one) but most will receive them by today @ 2p.

Yeah I had an in store rep tell me last week that he "highly doubted that that phone is coming out in January" - It all depends on which rep you talk to. Some really like their jobs and want to find out about new things coming out. Some aren't so successful, so why would they go above and beyond to pay attention to what's going on internally with the company.

Just talked to a VZW rep at a local store.
I talked to a few VZW store's over the last couple of days, and got the "I don't know" line.....
Today I talked to a rep that actually took the time to look up the information.
She gave me a price of $499.00 on the 2 year agreement.
She also hinted to the amount they have IN STOCK and that she will be able to sell tomorrow @ 9am when the store opens.
She also told me that there shold be no problem with the $100.00 rebate for getting the unlimited data package.
Another thing she told is to call 611 and get them to allow me to upgrade earlier, and that she didnt think it would be a problem, and that there would be a $20.00 charge to do this.
So it seems to me.. if you actually get a person that CARES, you can get somewhere with VZW.

It is just what she told me.
I am assuming it is a instant rebate.
Other than that, I dont know.

If you are a few months short of your NE2 $100 rebate then you can get an early upgrade which costs you $20. Basically you get a $80 rebate instead of a $100 rebate if you are close to two years, but not there yet.

Also, has anyone in minnesota found a helpful store or rep? I'm not having any luck. Thanks.

I'm planning on getting my 700w tomorrow morning at 9am which is pefect timing since the last billing day on my nextel is the 5th. I'm taking a flight on friday, and planned on loading my treo up with a bunch of music and some movies for the flight; i was wondering however, does the treo have an "airplane" mode or something of the sort, where i can block incoming/outgoing freq. to allow me to use the device in-flight?
