don't worry keegan! didn't mean to scare you. I know, after all of our waiting for the 6700 it would be crazy for me to give up now. I've actually gotten quite good at waiting and I'm not sure if I even feel comfortable owning the phone now! I still want the 6700. I'm just also interested in keeping up to date on the 700. I may get a 700 and return it with the worry free thing since I won't be able to get the 6700 until 1/19. Congrats on getting the order placed! I'm relying on your feedback to help inform my decision process.

you can use the ne2 with the extra 100.00 data discount. did it on my i730. if who ever you talk to says no.tell them you want to talk to manager or supervisor. this is for retail customers. dont know how b2b works on their pricing. but i did get ne2 and the 100.00 data discount in august 05 when i got the i730.

I will try this, however I am not too hopeful. $300 is a lot easier to swallow that $400.

Has anyone in the Chicago area had any luck tracking down the 700w in stock in a VZW store for tomorrow? The store on Michigan Ave. downtown has a demo model on display but said to check back tomorrow after 2pm and they will "probably have it in stock by 1:30 or 2pm on Friday" b/c their database says "in stock week of 1/8."

I really want to have it for this weekend so I'll probably just order by phone tomorrow AM if no one has any in stock confirmed.

My store did as well - they finally called me back and said they had two - When I asked about selling - he replied hurry up - so I got it...woooohooo finally 399.99 on a 2 year with the data discount... so it's time to start playing... I can't believe the build quality of it.. puts my squeaking cingular version to shame...

Yes that is what I would suggest. All of the stores are getting some 700W's via FedEx by the 5th. I will say that they will be in very limited quantities so get to the store early.

Newbie here....
Just talked to a VZW rep at a local store.
I talked to a few VZW store's over the last couple of days, and got the "I don't know" line.....
Today I talked to a rep that actually took the time to look up the information.
She gave me a price of $499.00 on the 2 year agreement.
She also hinted to the amount they have IN STOCK and that she will be able to sell tomorrow @ 9am when the store opens.
She also told me that there shold be no problem with the $100.00 rebate for getting the unlimited data package.
Another thing she told is to call 611 and get them to allow me to upgrade earlier, and that she didnt think it would be a problem, and that there would be a $20.00 charge to do this.
So it seems to me.. if you actually get a person that CARES, you can get somewhere with VZW.

Well, to post another anecdote, my store rep said the 6th. I haven't tried other stores around here, but will tomorrow (4th) morning.

Also, re. the NE2 and data plan discounts, they're both for $100 off the 2yr pricing and are NOT stackable.

VZW E -again, thanks for the info. I have a question for you (and anyone with good VZW policies knowledge): I already planned on getting the unlimited data plan, so the $100 off from that is a given.
But I also have the NE2 discount available -since they're both the same discount, does it matter which one? It seems I should get the data discount instead and "save" the NE2 discount for a later date, correct?

It does not matter which one you use. If you use the A.D.D. it will reset your NEWE2 date, so its not like you will be able to use it 3 months down the road. You will have to wait another 22 months before your eligible to upgrade and use your NEWE2 again.
