I just got a S65

I really like this phone.. steping from a D750 the menu is looking nice and besides speed and camera this is a good phone even if u compare with the new SE.. I whant to ask you.. what is the best SW?? I have nr 16.. is something newer that this?
And one more thing.. if i whant to flash to a new-er version i need com cable? The usb one is not good?

Ouch, the latest version of the software if 58, so yeah, I'd suggest updating that as soon as possible. You do need a data cable to do that, and I don't believe it matters which one you use (I used a generic USB-to-serial that I found on eBay for a few bucks).

Are u serios?? What is P,- date?? Is not SW version relase date? The date in my phone is 20-11-2004.. from then they made 42 versions???

Congrats on your S65. The cable you need is a USB to serial. The original Siemens cable is DCA-510, which is guaranteed to work. Some people have had good luck finding an aftermarket cable with the chipset from Prolific (the same as the Siemens cable).

I've taken a cable from ebay.. 1 pound + 4 pounds thransport.. i hope is gonna work... what about SW version.. the newest really is 58??

Since you know the variant you will have no problems. Choose the Firmware Update link, select product S65, choose your variant, and click the link to download. I did check and this is the file you need. It's version 50 and the latest available for your variant.

I got it!! I have no idee why it didant work b4.. maybe i am just crazy ) Now i only need a cable.. I cant belive i only have version 16...

Do you think this update will make a big diference?

And one more thing.. can i use a diferent Variant???

It sure will, and you sure can. It's my understanding that the variant is just a language set (for example, there is a set with Western languages such as North American English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, and there is another with a ton of European languages). I think as long as you have a variant with your language you should be fine. And I think the first thing you'll notice is that the phone is a lot more stable (not so many freezes, database errors, speedier menu navigation), and that your video record time jumps to 1:30 min.
