how to send attachments with text message?

I would like to attach a file (e.g. mp3, picture) to a message that I send from my email to number@txt.bellmobility.ca. Unfortunately the attachments seem to get lost somehow, is it possible at all to send attachments via email or only from another phone? If so how is it done?

The phone may not be able to receive because of type of file or size of file.

Yes that's what I would like to do: send an MMS from a regular email account to an e815, when it's phone to phone it just appears as regular message where you can navigate to attachments. If I send one from phone to email the sender appears as number/type=plmn@txt.bell.ca However, replies to this don't arrive. So I am wondering if this form of address could be modified to include attachments.
