I called B2b a little while ago and they told me they were sold out, they didn't want to place the order because they couldn't guarantee delivery..

Cool phone pic's!!! This may or may not matter to you but your phone number is visible in one of the pictures, you probably don't want that info shared out.
Wow! Good eye! Thanks a bunch...it's been taken care of.Originally Posted by madizms

Hi all,
When I turn on my device after its shutdown, i see the following in the upper right corner...
IPL 1.0
SPL 1.08
GSM 01.09.11
OS 1.8.11.1
I havent changed any sim or replaced anything. this is just out of the box. Is this something to worry about ?
Thanks!
nmj79, that is just the start up, mine does the same thing.
I see that too, i don't think that there is anything to worry about.
Posting my delivery. I ordered 2/7 approx. at 10 AM and received yesterday at 4:30. This thing is awesome. Now just have to figure out how to use all the functions. Thanks for all the info that this forum has provided.
I have been reading and noticed that another phone, I can't remember the name of it right now, does not have a slide out keyboard like the Wizard. It says it has a "virtual Keyboard". What exactly is this? How does it work?
What is the advantage of the 64k sim over the 32k (other than 32k)? I have an old Cingular SIM, is there a real advantage to upgrading?
Just did a test with Wifi (with the 802.11g registry hack) and got 897Kkbits/sec. With GPRS got 80kbit/sec (about 3 bars signal). Shouldn't GPRS we faster than this?Originally Posted by kkj1961
I don't know if anyone had problems connecting their 8125 to activesync but i discovered that activesync may have problems with firewalls just warning :
I had problems with activesync connecting to my phone at times, it turns out to be a firewall issue : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...c/default.mspx
That helped fix the issue for me. THere are different firewall programs and how to set those automatically. .. just in case anyone had problems that i had.
Applying this registry hack at least makes the 8125 feel faster... Animation must be wasting a lot of CPU cycles.

I'm not one of the lucky few who has a 8125 but I can tell you that if you have EGPRS (EDGE) coverage than you should be hitting upwards of about 200KB/s. I have the 2125 and test on DSLReports before I start surfing, whenever I'm in a new location around town. I probably ave. about 220KB/sOriginally Posted by iamhives
Before I go back to playing with my new 8125.
Just got it a couple of hours ago, and I can tell you that this thing is SWEEEEEET. Anyone who is returning it should forget about buying any kind of Pocket PC phone, because this is by far the nicest I've tried yet.
First impression - the 8125 is SMALL, in a good way. I had the Siemens Sx66 before this (also by HTC) and it just looked like a brick. This thing, you could actually hold it up to your ear without looking like an idiot.
Of course, why would you, the bluetooth is loud and clear on my HS810 (unlike the SX66).
Speed. Let's talk about speed. I have a 600Mhz iPaq Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 5.0, and it is soooo much slower than the 8125. Is there the occasional lag when selecting something? Yes. But it is still perfectly useable, and the new OS is so much better than 2003.
This phone is a Treo killer, no question about it. I just can't get over the price either.
Back to my 8125!
