So I spoke with customer service today and got a guy who was very helpful, he said that the 8125 would be out next week. He then put me on hold to go and find out what the exact date would be, when he came back he said it would be February 6th, but he did emphasize that the date is tentative.

Anyhow, one more confimation for the 6th, here's hoping.

Sorry I have to laugh at that one. I'm betting since she is still being trained she just asked her manager what a 8125 is.

February 6th is also the date all Chinese companies are going back to work after the Spring Festival holiday, the Chinese New Year.

    Coincidence?

Since Cingular is not offering an equipment protection on the 8125, what are our options on protecting our investment - - what is the warranty?

You get a year's worth of warranty.

the specs were listed a couple pages back, and I saw that MSN was the only im program listed. just to be safe, I must ask, can we expect theh 8125 to be equipped with msn, as well as AOL and Yahoo IM like Tmobile's MDA?

other than that, this phone is mine!!!

Possibly not included by default but there are third-party applications that allow for the use of AIM and Yahoo. Some of these applications are free but some have to be paid for.

Hey folks. First timer here. I found this site while searching for the 8125. Anyway...

I called my local stores today (Southern California). No one knew anything as fas a launch date. Cingular's customer service told me next week, but wouldn't confirm a date. One local store I managed to bribe information out of by offering them the opportunity to showcase their products and services with the company work for (won't say what one, let's just say it's big). For us out here, it looks like the 13th. She expects to get a store product in next week, but they won't be available to purchase until the 13th. Again, just what she told me. Could be different dates for different regions.

Also, she told me if they do get to showcase here, I'll get a big discount. Enough referrals, and it's free. But again, just what she said.

    From the shack

So you know, I work for radio shack in CT. I was at a meeting today and I was in the back room of the store when I saw that dummies for the 8125 were in. It can't be too much longer now, maybe at most 2 weeks. I was playing with it and the device certainly will be comfortable. And incase you are new the phone and were wondering exactly what it has...

    Speakerphone
    Voice-activated dialing
    1.3 MP Camera
    Video Recording
    Picture Messaging
    Text Messaging
    Mulitmedia Messaging
    Downloadable Ringtones
    Bluetooth
    MP3 Player
    Stereo Speakers
    Games
Instant Messaging (most likey just AIM)
    Email
    Qwerty Keyboard (duh)
    HTML Browser
    Quad Band

and yes... it seems that Cingular will allow the HTC 8125 to keep its Wi-Fi capabilities

All info comes straight from the Shack, expect prices to range from 399-499

    Another in-store report...

I checked with my local corporate store here in SoCal, and the salesperson had to talk to her assistant manager before answering my question. When she came back, she told me to come back on Monday (2/6) as they expected to start selling the 8125 then. I asked her when she expected they would arrive, and she gave me a look in her eye that said "we have them in the back right now, but if I tell you that, you'll never leave without one". I asked her at least 5 times if she had them in back, and she kept giving me the same look.

Therefore, if I was able to read her correctly (but who can ever truely read a woman) then my local store already has them and are waiting until Monday to begin selling them. If I were in Vegas, I'd put money on 2/6 being the day.
