I have the 39.99 plan for my Treo. It sucks to have to pay that much but the way that I look at it is that is about what other companies are charging. If you want the unlimeted guess we are gonna have to pay.

how is verizon way cheaper? Im not sure you are looking at the correct plan.. Verizon is 39.99 also, but thats evdo..

I don't know, I didn't look it up. He's only paying $20, but it could be that he doesn't have the EVDO.

How do you get SERO? I can not find it on Sprint's web site. Do you have to call and ask for it or is it a special deal that only certain companies/users can get?

can you not lock the screen? By this I mean hold down the '#' key (or some other key) and it locks the phone and when you hit one of the buttons to wake it up you are required to hit '*' to unlock it. I hope it does, I know people who have gotten into trouble because their phone dialed someone and the person listened to what they were doing (kind of funny but they got in trouble).

Funny thing is this happened to my now x girlfriend (long time ago). Let me just say when she got back from "a trip to visit her grandmother" she got dumped.

I think it stands for Sprint Employee Referal Offer. You have to know somebody that works at Sprint and have them refer you.

feel free to call me a bull@#!*er... and just know upfront that though i'm hopeful, i half expect i'm under some illusion...

ordered a 8125 from b2b at 7:30am pacific time today. the patient rep took 15-minutes to locate a nbo order placement portal that issued me a order number for a 8125 along with a claimed "shipment restriction" that the order will not ship for 7-days. assuming this includes weekends and depending how you count today, that means the 8th or 9th. my company has no-charge 2-day fedex shipment. i kept my mouth shut as the order was inputted and waited to see if i was going to get a order confirmation. suprise to me! i was! i then asked if i could get express overnight and was told that the order needed to be cancelled and replaced. i said, "that's ok, let's not press our luck and leave the order in the queue." as for price: i was told my swap out from the 2125 is an even exchange. i paid $169 for the smartphone including media net unlimited and appropriate call plan qualifying for all rebates based on 2-year renewal.

we shall see!!! the order tracking number is not yet showing signs of life on cw order status/tracking site... i know it takes a while for orders to post there and i'll check again in the early evening.

if true that corp/stores will be selling monday, i hope to hear if the device was/is worth the wait.

again i say that this information may be bogus... but to clarify for those who chimed in:

yes, it is possible that the rep processed the order for a 2125 though he clearly confirmed 8125 several times as well as described the wm5 pda with sliding qwert keyborad.

the term "swap" should not have been used. to clarify, this is my second 2125 smartphone. it replaced the first one which was defective. this 2125 smartphone's 30-day return window closes on feb-17. i informed the rep i was not happy with this smartphone and wanted to exchange it for the 8125 pda. i paid $169 for the 2125 after instant rebate. the rep instructed as follows... upon receipt of new device, return the 2125. he quoted the contract price for the 8125 to me (our company) based on current plan and options was $169 and it would be a zero-dollar transaction.

also... checked online order tracking and it shows nothing. called cs at 6pm pacific time and the rep found "account notes" referencing the same confirmation number i provided but he was unable to contact nbo to verify device type since they were closed.

tomorrow is another day! (a stupid expression)

update 8:15am pacific time: called cw help"less"-desk since xpressmail is on the fritz again. when they finished "not" solving issue i was asked if i needed anything else and i asked if she could confirm what device the order confirmation i have is for. she looked it up and told me it was a "cingular 8125 that is not released to ship for seven days". i asked when is the ship date if the order was placed yesterday. she had no clue. i don't know what any of this means

went to my local store here that let me play with their demo model earlier this week. no updates. during lunch i went to another store less than 10 minutes away (it's a corporate store, not a reseller) and they had no idea what i was talking about. i'm guessing my store got it and will be selling it first because they probably have more business professionals that shop there due to all the companies surrounding it. so....we'll see next week.
