archive (close) the thread, its getting too long and hard to find info
Keep it going..I like having all the info on one thread.
I keep seeing references to a $40.00 data plane. Can you not get this device and use a cheaper "Data Connect" plan.

This may be a dumb question, but....If I use this deivce for music and video on travel, will I need a wired headset or will it allow me to use my bluetooth earpiece? Thanks
Stereo Sound through Bluetooth (A2DP) is not currently supported on WM5 devices, but will be available soon in an update.
The phone can be locked by pressing the "device lock" through the touchscreen. Only way to unlock it is to turn the screen back on, hit "unlock" and then press "unlock" (again all with the touchscreen) or sliding out the keyboard and pressing *. I'm not familiar with the xv6700, but I'd believe they'd be able to do the same thing. I've never accidently called someone with my 9100.

again i say that this information may be bogus... but to clarify for those who chimed in:Originally Posted by f4brutale
yes, it is possible that the rep processed the order for a 2125 though he clearly confirmed 8125 several times as well as described the wm5 pda with sliding qwert keyborad.
the term "swap" should not have been used. to clarify, this is my second 2125 smartphone. it replaced the first one which was defective. this 2125 smartphone's 30-day return window closes on feb-17. i informed the rep i was not happy with this smartphone and wanted to exchange it for the 8125 pda. i paid $169 for the 2125 after instant rebate. the rep instructed as follows... upon receipt of new device, return the 2125. he quoted the contract price for the 8125 to me (our company) based on current plan and options was $169 and it would be a zero-dollar transaction.
also... checked online order tracking and it shows nothing. called cs at 6pm pacific time and the rep found "account notes" referencing the same confirmation number i provided but he was unable to contact nbo to verify device type since they were closed.
tomorrow is another day! (a stupid expression)
so can you use the unlimited 19.99$ data plan on this device?
In theory, you can, and as far as I know, it is the same as the 40 dollar plan. However, getting Cingular to allow you to do this may prove tricky. I plan on trying though.
Yup, I hear you there! Cingular's data plans are outrageous! My brother in law has Vorizon, and we compared the two. Way cheaper!I plan on trying though.
hey sober guy just how much is the verizon data plan??? i went to verizon today just to check it out and there unlimited data plan was $45.00..that is way to much...
i heard of some people using the media net so surf the web...but i dont think that there is an unlimited media works plan...i only see 5mb on the cingular site...correct me if im wrong...

I am going to give the 20$ plan a whirl, but from my understanding they are the same connection, however the 40$ plan allows a secure connection along with a better connection. You wont have the net dropping on you and you are basically given priority. Another thing also, the main reason i may go with the 20$ data plan is because i have the access of having wireless. Milwaukee, where i live, is one of the first cities in the nation to go completely wireless. Along with that everywhere i am at (school, work, and home) i have wireless internet. This is a nice device, i just wish it came with UMTS/HSPDA, so i can tether my notebook to it when im on the go...

I got the PPC-6700 from Sprint yesterday. There is no accidental dialing problem unless the user is stupid enough to disable the buttons auto-lock feature. That feature is on by default and the only button that works when the device is "off" is the power button on the top of the PocketPC. I put off in quotes because the PocketPC part is off, but the phone is on and able to receive calls. To dial out you have to turn on the PocketPC. I have 14 days to test Sprint, so far so good. I will also order the 8125 from Cingular so I can make a fair evaluation of the devices and services and then decide which one I will keep.Originally Posted by GenPetahhhh
Are you in an EVDO area? Not to mention the $15.00 data plan?Originally Posted by txcas
Yes I am. The $15 plan becomes $12 with my company discount. I just love it. By the way I am typing this from the 6700 while I wait for my doctor.Originally Posted by Sonix
