    E815 01.1E.0R (8720_01.1E.00) firmware available

This has not been tested, but here is the file:
    http://s53.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0...73UC1BGW9IGVEM

For inquiring minds that want to know, the name of the file is VRZ_E815_01.1E.0R_PRIhh28734_CUSTOMER_UPGRADE_01.shx

I'm sure Ry Ry will have it available at http://ryfiles.com/flash when he gets his site back online tomorrow.

I do not know what features or bugs have been addressed or changed, so don't ask me.
As a matter of fact, I know nothing Jon Snow.

Maybe. Flashing is dangerous - do it at your own risk.

Put it this way: I have an E815, and I currently have no plans on flashing it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is this a firmware released by Verizon or is there a new firmware from Verizon for the e815 since it was released?

I'm not going to try to update it myself. I'll take it into a store to get the update, but I didn't know if there was a new one out.

It's been mentioned that the version that Verizon will be getting is 8720_01.1E.00.

Humpa's source has leaked out 01.1E.0R.

I'll be a brave soul and try it out. I'll let you know what happens.

And to anyone else trying it out, I suggest you not try to use PST 7.1.1 to do this. PST 7.2.3 or RSDLite would probably give you less headaches. But we won't discuss how to aquire those programs...

So then is this 0R firmware the original Moto version pre-VZW modification or what exactly is the significance between 00 and 0R? Or will we even know until 00 is released? Or am I just being stupid again?

flashing now, will let you know version number and any differences in a little while.

Update: the version number displayed on the phone is 8720_01.1E.00
This is exactly the same file as VZW is flashing your phone with.
Upgrade went perfect... haven't had a chance to check for anything new, but basic functions seem fine.

Awesome! If you have a TF card, check to see if audio copy/move is still disabled. If you have a BT-enabled computer or handheld, check connectivity. Hopefully OBEX is still there.

Cool - that actually makes sense, and it is also what I figured would be the case.

I didn't think they'd have two versions. Mainly becaue my source also got me a V710 file called VRZ_V710_1[1].40.00_VRZ03_UPGRADE_01.shx - and when I loaded that on my V710 I found it was just the normal 1.40.0R, even though the file is called 1.40.00

For some reason, with the E815 it is just the opposite. The phone says .00 and the file says .0R
