E815 01.1E.0R (8720_01.1E.00) firmware available

Finally got around to being able to upgrade/flash my E815. So far so good. Couple things I noticed:

1) PST 7.2.3 was giving me fits doing the Flash/Test Commands part. Errors with the WIBU-BOX section, and needed to use RSD Lite 2.0.3, which went VERY well and quick.

2) Phone restarted, everything seems to run a lot faster than before. BUT, as cosmetic an issue as it sounds, I lost the "Verizon Wireless" service notification on the main screen. When I close the phone it displays briefly on the small outer screen, but not on the larger screen. Anyone else see this happen?

I get home and thought I'd try to connect via bluetooth. Bluetooth services listed included dialup .

The SEEM hacks never were about dialup capability. That was enabled through the ##DIALUP command. The firmware update just enables dialup all the time now.

EVDO DUN works fine with it -- if you add the $60/mo plan to your phone.

OK, so after reading through all 51 pages, I still don't have the info that I am looking for. My phone has been forced to 1X for quite some time now, due to battery issues. I was always able to use bluetooth DUN on 1x through my IPAQ. Since I have flashed, it does not work any more. Sure it my IPAQ sees the phone and dials, but tells me that my username password is incorrect.

I have read that some people have gotten this to work and others have not. I'm just wondering which is it? If some people have gotten it to work with a PocketPC, I would love to hear how they did it. I've always used #777, mynumber@vzw3g.com and password vzw. Do I need to change something else now. I really want to get this to work. Please let me know or else I am going back to the old one.

Give it a try with NO username and password.

Well, got it into 1x mode, and the server keeps sending back "unknown user at domain" when I use the qnc/qnc or the phone@vzw3g.com/qnc.

I saw in another thread that others who had this working yesterday are not able to connect not either.

Anyone know if Verizon changed something on their network?

yea i flashed my e815 as well and the upgrade went without a problem. I'm trying to see if there are any major differences. All your settings must be placed back though lol and it seems as if we have 2 do our seem edits over which i am about to do so anyone that has flashed, please update on any changes

I posted the loss of the banner as well. No one replied that they saw (or didn't see) the same thing. Thought I was smokin somthing funny.

I rarely look at the phone, and I'm not sure I would notice whether or not it said Verizon Wireless on the inside or the outside. But at the moment mine says Verizon Wireless inside and out.

But I've read a few posts about this. I thought someone mentioned that they had the banner on EVDO but not on 1x (or somesuch - I wasn't really paying attention).

You may need to change Authentication to PAP. This is the only change I needed to make after disabling EVDO. Hope that works! See http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...8&page=1&pp=15 for details.
