on the kjam the G stood for both. confirmed by doing a speed test, i will have the mda tomorrow so i cant confirm the "e"

is there a difference between b and g if you're just using the mda's wifi to access the internet? and are all g boxes backwards compatible to b? sorry for such a basic question, but the CC guy couldn't help me with this question.

Just a note, the complete clear clase (http://www.proportamusic.com/product.php?id=1110) is for the MDA compact and doesnt fit the Tmobile MDA well. It is a different product without the sliding keyboard. Not sure if they have one for the MDA itself, but doesnt look like it. I could be wrong though, but remember the MDA compact being much thinner

"ThePocketSolution" -- features several cases, including top- and side-opening leather, a nice anodized aluminum case lined with neoprene, leather or snakeskin or stingray holsters, waterproof cases, desktop cradles and lots of accessories:

The Boxwave Armor case - currently on sale for $28 (reduced from $35). Aluminum with a clear plexiglas insert so you can see the screen while its closed:

    The Hutshell leather case:

MobileFun (UK) offers loads of cases, including hte PDair aluminum case, gorgeous Piel Frama italian leather "luxury" cases, and the one I think I'm going to get, the "Bugatti". Here's the link to MobileFun:
    http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/cat/KJAM-Cases.htm

...and here's the link to the Bugatti case:
    http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/9618.htm

Of course we don't want to forget the Krussel cases -- they make a few that fit the MDA. Here's one - a classic "multidapt":
    http://www.pcs-ltd.com/store/product...oducts_id=1226

    ...and here's the "horizontal wide":
    http://www.pcs-ltd.com/store/product...roducts_id=997

    ...and here's the "horizontal platinum":

...and here's the "horizontal Plus + Multidapt S-Wide":

...and here's the "handit multidapt" (from SimonCells this time):

...and here's the "cabriolet multidapt" (via MobileCity Online):
    http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wire...04&phoneid=801

Neat alternative here: Proporta makes a completely clear hard case for the device that's made of "shatterproof" polycarbonate (very tough plastic - used for eyeglasses - incredibly tough to break, and very scratch resistant):
    http://www.proportamusic.com/product.php?id=1110

Proporta also makes a silicon skin for the device -- but I'm not 100% positive you can get to the keyboard with this on (?):
    http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05...e=cat&t_id=247

...and they also make a cordura nylon holster:
    http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05...759&t_mode=des

Kelkoo sells many of these as well:
    http://shopping.kelkoo.co.uk/b/a/ss_...-jam_case.html

ALSO: I'm probably going to check out a Martin Fields screen overlay for my MDA...never used one, but I've read many happy reviews of them. Keeps the screen bright and readable, and protects it at the same time while maintaining the touch-screen function. (anyone here used one yet with a touch-screen?)

I'm a bit lost in this huge thread... but simple (I hope) question: Can I tether the MDA to my laptop to use the internet connection? (provided I have the proper plan)

If you are on a Mac, I posted a link here: http://www.howardforums.com/showpost...&postcount=406

If not, I think there is a sticky about it somewhere.

Had my MDA all day yesterday, ended up returning it at night.

I currently have a Qtek8310/ImatSP5 which is the SDA but with a more business and professional look.

The MDA seemed small to me at first it being a full PDA. But as the day wore on, it just seemed to get bigger. The physical dimensions are fine except the depth. This phone is really thick compared to all the phones i've used in the past. I just couldnt get past this.

Another thign is reception, it is horrible, just as bad and if not worse than the SE T610, we all remember how bad that was. By far the 8310/SP5/SDA has the best reception of ANY phone.

I enjoyed having a qwerty keyboard, but when you have the MDA in your pocket, the keyboard just slips out slowly on its own. So if you walk around with it in your pocket for about an hour or so, you'll find that the keyboard has extended 1/4 of the ways out. This is just really annoying.

The overall build quality is Very poor for a HTC phone. Compared with the Qtecs and Imates that use metal in alot of the casing for their phones, the MDA is all about plastic. Take off the battery cover and bend it, there is alot of flex in this phone. I can easily see one drop ending the life of good machine.

I believe the WM5 Smartphone is the better choice instead of a WM5 PDA phone enabled. The smartphones like the SDA in my opinion perfectly balance e-mail/internet/scheduling with a cell phone where as the MDA is all about a PDA, with little attention to ease of use for a cell phone. Like numerous magazine reviews had said, very poor phone implementation.

One last thing, i am using 4.99 Tzones on my Qtek8310/SDA for full internet browsing, and e-mail. I could only get one or the other working on the MDA, if i wanted to browse, i had to change one setting, but then my e-mail couldnt be connected.

Please keep in mind that these are purely my Opinions.

Man, I saw the MDA on the T-Mo website when I logged in yesterday. When I logged in today with my credit card in hand it had been removed.

Now it's not an option as an upgrade. That's BS man!

Just checked mine too and it isn't there. I would just call if you want to do an upgrade and they still should be able to do it for you....thats if they aren't sold out already.....

Yeah, that was the first thing I did. The guy told me "I know it was there yesterday but it was removed today. No, I don't know why."

You think if I keep calling back eventually a rep will agree and do it?

i asked this exact same question on post #1441 and the friendly folks here answered my questions in subsequent posts. i'm not too interweb saavy, so i don't know how to do the multiple quote thing, but the answers are all on page 97 of this giant thread.

from what i gathered, internet access isn't any different between b and g since you're limited by the 3or 5Mbps of your internet connection, so you won't notice a difference. the only difference is if your box goes back to b and slows the whole LAN down to 11Mbps and you can't access files at 54Mbps between computers. hope this helps.

once a phone hits low stock, they switch it to new accounts only. this happened with the razr as well. for us upgraders, we have to wait till stock is full again before we can upgrade through the website. perhaps calling them would work, but their policy is to leave the low stock stuff open to only new accounts. it's CRAP if you ask me.
