Well let me tell you something first. Windows Mobile networking sucks. Its built around windows ce technology and it just ... sucks. I have the hardest time switching easily from edge to wifi. It just doesn't work 90% of the time. Its a shortcoming of windows mobile and until the whole networking setup is redone ...

Certainly an ugly beast. I just need to find a reference (or two or three) to explain how all the different pieces get configured. I've been setting up networks, LANs, WLANs, for years - never saw anything this bizarre. I imagine I'll get it to work eventually, but for the moment I definitely like I'm crawling around in the dark.

Any references or sites anyone can suggest to look at? Something that really covers network config in detail for WM5 on this device?

I ordered through upgrade, the MDA on Tuesday around 1am.. I chose the express shipping (as I am an impatient person lol) and now after calling a few times, I talk to a CCR and he tells me that there is a 'slight' backorder on the MDA's.. something about T-Mobile not expecting them to sell so quickly and they'll ship mine out in a couple of days.

Anyone else hear any kind of crap like this? Im so upset right now.

Same deal with me. Ordered online through an upgrade on Tuesday almost around the same time as you...chose the regular shipping (which in hindsight I will be calling CC tomorrow and asking to upgrade to the express) and was told by a friendly CCR this afternoon that my order was still listed as pending even though I placed my order on Tuesday as they were "sold out" of the MDA and she had no idea when they would be getting more in.

This was a great thread. It really carried the weight of the pre-launch news. Now that both devices have launched though, it makes sense to proceed with the two other stickies. That way MDA and SDA info will be posted most efficiently.

I will close this thread, but leave it as a sticky for at least a month while the hype continues.

Also, a huge thanks to everyone who is helping keep the forum as streamlined as possible by using these stickies.
