COM PORT 8 conflict using WModem

I was able to aviod problems by using a bluetooth connection but still have the problem with the teathered solution. I am using a regular mini-USB cable- do I need a special data cable?

On your PC, click Start -> Run
    type cmd
When the command prompt comes up, cd to the directory where you saved your files.

    type the following:

    attrib -a -s -h -r wmodem.*

Question bluetooth pairing XV6700 with Nokia 770

Having trouble pairing my XV6700 with a Nokia 770. The 770 sees the XV6700 fine, but the XV6700 doesn't seem to see the 770. After trying to pair the two, a message says data transfer is not possible. (bluetooth pairing with a Win XP laptop no problem)

I'm using the cable that came with the 6700 -- so I think any mini-USB cable should work.

I am having the same problem.. I followed the instructions... set the bluetooth and wmodem in the phone with the 000000 password.. reset the phone.. discovered services.. and it just came up with the comport and voice gateway.

I am also having a problem with wired sync too.. I was able to do it once.. chose to disable it a second time, and have yet to figure out what the hell I need to do to turn that on as well.. BAH!!

To turn off active syn, right click on the active syn icon in your task bar and select connection settings. Then uncheck the allow usb connections box, or check the box to turn it on.

my father just picked this up and it has push email on it as I wait impatiently for the 700w to get updated. Before I go fixing his phone, does anyone know if this version has dun already enabled?

Setting up the USB DUN I keep getting the error

"One of the USB Devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it."

"Reccomondation: Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, replace the device."

Does it no matter what USB port I use. Any ideas?

ActiveSync works fine, and Ive had BT DUN working before, but now it seems as if when I discover devices in range it doesent see the phone....

    New to Tether

    Several brief questions:

1 - Are the below directions correct if I want to tether my 6700 for internet access on my laptop, not using BT?

2 - Once I follow the steps, and using wModem, how do I connect to the internet, do have to dial my ISP number like a traditional modem or is it another process?

There is more to this I know, trying to keep quote/post short.

    [QUOTE=VZW E]THis is for a XV6700:

    1)
    1. Go to the PHONE application
    2. Dial ##3328873 Press Send
    3. enter code 000000
    4. Select BT DUN and Wmodem
    5. Click Edit
    6. Choose enable
    7. Push Save / OK
    8. Push Ok
    9. Follow the prompt to restart your device.....
