Using bandwidthplace.com on my Blackjack at 7:30am CST in Cordova area of Memphis, I got 2.2 MB/sec

    Using text.dslreports.com, 1MB test, I got 868 kbit/sec with .379 latency, 9.809s DL time.

    I heart 3G.

HSDPA on the Treo 750 rocks!

On the Treo 750v (Cingular) and using text.dslreports.com (on PIE), 1MB test, I am getting 700-912 kbit/sec routinely here in Palo Alto, CA.

    Same on my unlocked TyTn.

Given the ease of the HSDPA on Treo 750 hack, it is no-brainer. Makes me wonder why Cingular crippled it to begin with....power to the people!

    Slow 3G SF Bay Area?

I've been getting 300 kb/sec in the past two days in the San Francisco area where I used to average 750 kb/sec. Is anyone else in this area noticing the same thing? Or is it just my device?

Also, my speed tests used to be like this on dslreports:

    2kb, 100, 205, 300, 450, 550, 700, 800, 950, done. Avg 750 kb
    and now its like:

    2kb, 100, 205, 300, 305, 307, 311, 320, 325, 335, 350, 400, 450, 550, 650, 800, 925, done.
    Avg 200-300 kb

not exact numbers, but you know what I'm tryin to point out.

anyone using an XU870 yet ? I have a CU500, but I'm waiting on the expresscard so I can have it for domestic / international. I'm getting consistent 900s down in manhattan.

I will post pics of my results tomorrow. Downloading files from a pay per use news server is a good benchmark. Nothing can get cached. On the 8525 using an AT&T blue card, download speeds are 968Kb/s. The speed must be capped because it does not fluctuate up or down more then 2%.

Those speeds are using a USB cable. The best I can get using a 1.1 Bluetooth connection is 300Kb/s. Has anyone tried a Bluetooth 2.0 card with EDR (Enhanced Data Rate (3Mb/s)) with the 8525? I wonder if it can sustain those bit rates.
