easy. There's more users on your site sucking up bandwidth

Being that close to a umts site should give you a much stronger signal.

"Getting > 1mbps as long as I'm at -104 dBm or better."

Holy crap. So much speed for such a horrible signal? Something seems mixed up with you two.

When the signal is decent I average about 1.1 - 1.2 Mbits down and 125 kbit up.

I'll edit this post once I can test correctly.

I'm the only person using UMTS on my site. I'll have to check my laptop settings also. I always average 600-700 on HSDPA. I get a -60 because I'm inside a building and the cell site is ontop of the building above me.

Wow, I though you were joking when you said you were "there". Yea either there some network congestion or it could be the building you're in.

Can someone check the latency of HSDPA? go to start --> run --> cmd and "ping google.com" or "ping dslreports.com". I'd like to see how this compares to EV-DO, which usually gets around 150-500 ms ( i think ).

no i'm literally here. i'm staring at the lucent soft switch and the media gateways that the RNC and node b's are connected to. i'm testing t1 spans to the sites. it is the building but still, i should get a higher rate if people are getting 1mbs and higher.

With a decent signal it's about 125ms which I think is very good.

As an aside, EDGE latency on the Sierra 860 is around 300 - 350ms.
