I couldn't agree more. If the search function can't get us straight to the post, at least it would be much more useful if it would take us to the page in the thread that contains the post(s) containing the search terms.

    "Turn On GPS Application
    Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings
    Delete the DWORD marked "hide"
Add a DWORD called "Group" and give it the value of "2" (dec)
The GPS panel will now show up in your connection settings"

    this is what i see:

    your thoughts???
What would turning this on achieve? There's no hardware or software in the 8125 to support it - is there?

How long does the manual say to charge up the 8125 before using it?
My device is coming today and I'd like to know if I must wait like 9 or 24 hours to play with it!

ALSO: what screen protector do you guys recommend? are there any pre-made hp/palm/dell/etc. ones already cut to the 8125's screen size that we can purchase?

POP3 is Gmail and Id like to change the name to that but it doesn't allow that name changed, it is greyed out when I edit, how can you change that?

I dont want Hotmail or outlook email in there but i dont see a way to delete it, help?

You have to change the file as in outlook in order to view it 1st name 1st. Sucks but thats the only way. It mimics your outlook on your desktop.

    Some quick blurbs...

    * When you have your 8125 connected via USB to your PC and ActiveSync is done doing it's dirty work your 8125 is actually connected to your network!!! See for yourself...you can surf the net, check your email, etc and it will use your current network rather than GPRS/WiFi. This is good and BAD because when I'm connected at work it can't reach my Yahoo! mail because of my companies blocking/firewalls. Still it's pretty cool in a way, I'll have to try it more at home

    * Intellisync HandHeld Edition is god's gift to PDAs. It works every time and is extremely customizable. I have had all kinds of problems with ActiveSync 4.1 that I gave up using that for PIM Sync. I just use ActiveSync for my favorites and files.

    * The best part of Intellisync is what they call "Push Sync" which basically monitors your PIM (Notes, Outlook, etc) and anytime there is a change on either your PIM or your device, it will automatically sync the two. No need to sync everything...means as long as your device is connected to your PC any changes are always synced immediately (pretty sure that goes for BT, IR as well!)....very cool. Yes it's expensive at $70 but I'll probably end up getting it.

*WiFi speeds I've seen doing benchmarks of about 800kbps. Fastest EDGE I've gotten is 140kbps (I'm in a very populated area - NYC so that could be the reason)

    Mobilehavoc out.

You should give it a try. See if it works. I had a few problems with Active Sync as well but rebooting and starting from scratch worked for me..

Intellisync needs ActiveSync to connect to your WM5 device but that's all. As long as ActiveSync can "see" your device Intellisync can synchronize all the PIM stuff.

A good test would be is if you can can "Explore" the WM5 device using the button in ActiveSync.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you at least give Intellisync a try, they have a 30-day trial that I'm using and it doesn't even give you an annoying "Buy this now"...fully functioning...30 days is a long time these days to try something out so give it a shot.

You can also try connecting the phone directly to the computers usb ports if you're using a usb hub cause that was my problem with active sync not seeing my device. I connected it driectly to get the initial setup of the device nad then replace my usb hub back in and all works again.

From this area I tried to remove Text Message notifications :

    http://wiki.howardforums.com/pocketp...t_Notification

    It says :
This entry eliminates the Text Message Sent Notification that your device will spit back at you whenever you send out an sms.

Open up a registry entry program such as Resco Registry that comes with Resco Explorer 2005. Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\" Goto File>New>Key (Just Create a new key in a program other than Resco), name it "Settings". Now open up Settings and Goto File>New>String Value (Create a new String Value in programs other than Resco Registry). Name it "SMSNoSentMsg" and set the value to one. Save the value by clicking OK (may be different in other programs). Exit out of the program and then soft reset. The annoying notification should no longer come up.

Now using Total commander, I couldn't create a KEY, so I made it a folder called Settings, and inside that folder I made the string that has the 1 value but that didn't work. Anyone know how to do it right with total commander?

Do you have the proxy disabled for your MediaNet? I am not able to surf the web while connected to my PC.

Also, is there another proxy I can go through that will allow the compression that the Medianet one gives but will allow me to connect while on WiFi too?
