I purchased a phone with a one year family plan contract in February 2005, this contract expired in February 2006. I called in to T-Mobile customer service yesterday to cancel my service because I am going to be out of the country for the next year.

Somehow, an upgrade was made to my plan in November 2005, and now my contract won't expire until November 2006 and I have to pay $400 to cancel this account (2 lines).

The rep mentioned that since it shows that it was done on the T-Mobile website, the change must have been made by me. I have never had a reason to make changes to my account, and am 100% positive that I never made or authorized any changes.

What am I supposed to do? I have fulfilled my one year contract obligations, and I know that I never modified my plan...

    Thanks

If you didn't order the phone call customer care and have them file a handset research form to verify if the order placed was received, if not then have them backdate your contract. If you didn't order the phone and it wasn't used on your account then you're in the clear.
Please call 1-800-937-8997 on a different phone so we can help you...

Need to know how to interface your phone to your device.

Need help setting up your email client on the phone click on this for setting it up.

What is your proxy setting then go to what to input for the settings

If your apple laptop has bluetooth then you can use the configurator link in my sig to get a majority of the settings. After turning onthe bluetooth on both devices, on the MDA you'll need to go into the bluetooth manager and setup a profile for the mac by going to bluetooth manager to allow the MDA to be used as a dial up modem. The apple's end depends on if you use the built in mac bluetooth modem or if you use a dongle or card some of the settings from there. Can you please provide a little more info (your data feature for the MDA and what type of bluetooth availible on the mac)?

If you intend to use the usb connection then that's currently beyond my scope of skills. I think you'll need some form of a driver for the mac to recognize the MDA as a modem and it should have settings setup similar to using a phone as a modem. Microsoft most likely won't provide a driver but you might need some form of a windows emulator for this situation.

    Any ideas?
Don't know if this may help your or not but at this thread http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...&highlight=mda you can try to flash your device to add BB connect and it may also fix some of the problems you're currently having as well. At this time I don't know anyone who's flashed their mda with this but if I can get one cheap enough I'll maybe experiment with it.

Note: this is not an official Tmo USA update and will void your warranty if it fails, this is just a possible suggestion.

    Thanks so much!

Ok, second question. For the last week or so I've been having data connectivity problems with my Treo 650. Usually late morning it will stop working - even though I still get the GPRS/EDGE icon, it still won't connect to anything. Resetting the phone and even removing the battery does nothing to fix this. I end up calling Tmobile, eventually get put in touch with data services, and they eventually reset my account/reprovision something, I can't remember what they say they do, but they tell me to turn my phone off while they do this. When I turn it back on, everything works again. Great, but it's not particularly convenient to have to call in every other day and talk to Tmobile for 20 minutes or more before getting everything reset. The guy I spoke to today said that it might be something wrong with one of the towers near me and said that it might be an issue with too many phones competing for the same signal.

So, now my question is, what do I do? If this is going to be ongoing, it's not acceptable. Will Tmobile let me out of my contract (which I have 2 months left on) because of this? I'm afraid that because the phone is not one they specifically support, that they will just say 'tough.' Also, I have a family plan, and would want to move to a family plan elsewhere, so how would that work? Would tmobile only waive the termination fee for my phone but charge for the other twoo lines on the account since they aren't having problems?

    Hi there!

My mom has an individual plan with t-mobile and loves it; and, it's the only cell phone carrier to work in her rural area. Since we can't get her to move, I'd like to take my two phone lines (one for me and husband) and bring them to t-mobile. Our goal is to have a family plan for the three of us to use.

    Questions:
    1) Does my mom have to re-sign a new contract for the new family plan? How would that work?

    2) I have a # in the area code where my mom's current plan is, but my husband does not. Can we port both of our numbers to t-mobile (from sprint)?

    3) My mom's spoken English isn't terribly great. What would she have to do in order for me to take care of this for her on the phone?

    4) Does it matter that she originally got her t-mobile cell phone and plan at a kiosk at a Walmart? Can/should we go there to get this new family plan taken care of?

    Thanks in advance!!

    1) if it includes nights for free yes, if not no.

    2) no, all numbers must be in the same region with the same area code, most reps don't enforce this policy but the stipulation of the port in process may not allow it.

    3) To move her line to your name we have to read to her a COR, or "change of responsibility" script and notate it in the account. What this does is that it gives us the legal permission to speak to either you or your husband and move the line to either of your names as necessary.

    4) If the family plan will be put under her name then it doesn't make a difference what dealer she goes too but for ease I usually recommend a tmo corporate store because of some of the account screw ups in the past by indirect dealers (avoid "The Mobile Solution" at all costs). I would also check your husband and your job and see if you qualify for Master Corporate Services Account since some of these accounts have decent specials (ie if you're in the military a decent discount).

Okay, don't know if it has been asked or not. I got a Motorola A630 T-mobile phone. I want to get a Samsung SHG-T809 phone off of e-bay. Would I simply buy the phone and slide my sim card in? Does the phone have to be unlocked? Thanks for any help.

Does flashing the firmware (that includes the CID unlocking) on the MDA void the warranty?

If it is a version of firmware that didn't come from T-Mobile (and they haven't released one yet) yes it does void the warranty. Once T-Mobile has gotten a hold of the firmware update and modified it the way they want, it will be released on their website.

That is not true. People are saying different dates. He said July 10th, while another rep said July 3rd. People aren't sure, I see.

No, the t-809 was released for T-mobile, so it would not need to be unlocked, if it is, then that's fine too, it will work just the same, it's just not needed. You will be just fine dropping your sim card in a making calls.
We know exactly where one cow with Mad-cow disease is located among the millions and millions of cows in America but we haven't got a clue as to where thousands of illegal immigrants and terrorists are located. Maybe we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration.

    Text messaging plans

Are there likely to be any new text messaging plans on the family plan? We would like to change from our 800 minute family plan (grandfathered - have had this plan for ages) to the 1000 minute plan currently offered at the same price we are paying. However, we get 50 free text messages received a month per line. The only text messaging option currently available on the family plan is the unlimited messages for $19.99, which is way too much. We don't need that many messages and that's more than we want to spend. Even the 400 messages offered for an individual line is more than we would use. I wish there were somehow a way to split the 400 messages between our two lines. That would be about the price and number of messages we would need (probably still more messages than we would need). I just wondered how often new plans come around for this type of thing.
