The restriction is that I'm not allowed to port in any phone #. I'm just asking if something like this is a permanent restriction or will it will eventually be removed?

The only rate plan available right now is myFaves 600.. $49.99/600 Minutes/N&W/myFaves. That's it. I have never heard of a 700 minute myFaves plan unless of course you're talking about the Family plan, but in that case it's $69.99.

does anybody have the SOC code for the non-promotional $39.99 plan (formerly "Get More"). This is NOT the normal plan on the tmo site. This is a non-promotional plan that includes 600 anytime min & free weekends for $39.99 (no nights included by default, they can be added for $5). I know it exists, i just lost the file with the SOC code for it. We're doing a C.O.R. and this plan will not req a new contract...

    Corporate Discounts

My company just merged with another, bigger company in WA State. I know Verizon and Sprint offer corporate discounts to our company and I was wondering if TMo does the same?

I have a quick question about T-Mobile Coverage. Sorry if it's an easy answer I just don't know anything about T-Mobile Services, and I've been looking at the T-Mobile website for a while but it doesn't really explain. What I want to know is if the FamilyTime Basic Plan charges for roaming or similiar charges when you use the phone outside your home area? I don't want to assume they don't charge and give the wrong info to my friend so thanks in advance to anybody that can answer.

No, there is no charge for domestic roaming. There is only one plan that T-mobile has as far as a regional plan, that is the Get More 3000. All other plans (Individual, Family Time and all myFaves plans) are nationwide. No roaming, no long distance.

Thanks Bargod, that's what I was thinking, but I wasn't too sure since I don't use T-Mobile or follow up on them. And they had asked someone else before me who told them they could only text and they're current T-Mobile customers

I believe the grandfathered texting feature you have would have to be removed or change to a current bundle to qualify for the corporate discount. I don't think you would have to start a contract over on your primary line unless you changed to a plan that required the renewel. Hope that helps a little I'd recommend calling CS just to confirm and have them pull it up in the system.

I'm sorry, Dzot, but I don't know. Wish I could help more. A lot of the restrictions I've seen are permanent, but they offer a type of compromise, such as being unable to make certain changes until the bill cycle starts over again. For something like being unable to port in a phone number, I simply don't know.

Currently I have a family plan with 2 phones, I am also out of contract. Is it possible to renew the contract and 2 more phones so I could get new phones for the new lines. I would have those 2 numbers as the 9.99 ones. Would I be able to cancel the 2 lines and keep the phones? The main reason I want to do this is to keep my 2 current numbers and get 2 new phones. Is this option possible? Thanks in advance

Why does TMO remove features from phones?

Havng recently bought a new, fire red Motorola PEBL unlocked, unbranded, I have to ask why TMO removes some features from the phones? I noticed in a black PEBL branded for TMO, a number of features were removed, and I would have had to do SEEM edits to fix that.

    This is what was removed:
    • Voice Record
    • The data indicator next to the signal strength that tells you if you have a GPRS/EDGE, etc. availability
    • Web Sessions menu
    • Secure/Nonsecure indicator for GPRS transmissions
    • The "Emergency Only" indicator that replaces the carrier name when you're on a non-TMO network
    • The "No Service" indicator that replaces the carrier name when you have no signal
    • The ability to configure smart keys below the screen to jump to Java apps or games instead of limited phone functions like phonebook, etc.
    • The ability to make a USB connection (only Bluetooth showed up on the connections menu)
    • Network List menu
    • Dialing services menu

Why on Earth would they turn those off? I could see them removing the Web Record function so you have to use the pay-per-use Voice Notes and removing a data indicator so you don't catch wind that there's more to that little globe button than just the free t-zones. Emergency only? Maybe so folks don't buy an unlocked phone for emergency-only use? Who knows? It just doesn't make sense. There has to be a cost or profit motive in it.

I think you're talking about an upgrade. If your existing two lines are out of contract and if throughout that contract you have had no involuntary suspensions, then you are probably eligible for upgrade on both of your lines; you'll have to call tmobile and ask or log-in to the website to find out.
As far as activating two new lines (I think that is what you meant by the 9.99) then that will depend on your credit class and if you are eligible for having a total of 4 lines on your account.

If what you are trying to do is activate two new lines to get phones with the intention of canceling the two old lines, then tmobile has no obligation to keep your old phone number. If you activate 2 lines and cancel the old ones, you should not expect to keep your old phone numbers.

I wish I knew as well. I can't really think of profit motivation other than it keeps more advanced users from bypassing the things tmobile has in place to generate profit (like tzones), but it could be for ease of use. From my experience, a lot of those features would confuse the hell out of a lot of people and may, as far as I can tell, even intimidate some. It would be preferable if tmobile simply suppressed these options so that more advanced users could still pull them up as they needed. All I can say is at least it's not as bad as a verizon phone, and hopefully it never will be.

If it still has the simcard in it, bring it to a t-mobile store, they can find out who's it is, and get it back to the owner.
