because i want to get one for my dad, who loves taking pics, but he's on t-mobile... gonna need a gsm... maybe a different gsm-phone recommendation?

There's the I-Mobile 902, which takes amazing shots as well (I happen to be selling a used one).
One warning though, if he's a fast texter, then the phone is gonna annoy him because it lags a little when composing sms messages. You can check the link in my sig for pictures and details about the phone I'm selling.

i did a search on eBay , and there does seem to be at least one reputable (though not domestic) seller with new phones for about $295 including shipping...
