    Well I feel stupid...

Work is no longer reimburising me for my bill, so all of a sudden I find myself caring about my plan etc. 4-5 year customer, last HU was in Jul 08.

Right now I'm paying full price:
    200/Unlimited Eve/Wkds Plan 25.00
    Blackberry Service 6GB 30.00
    Smartphone Value Pack 15.00
    9-1-1 Emergency Access Fee 0.50
    System Access Fee 6.95

Obviously I can get this down quite a bit, but my question is:

Is the fact that I was playing around $50/month extra in long distance for the last 2 years because I was too lazy to get minutes added on, relevant?

Factoring that in, how much should I be trying to get that existing plan down to $wise. I'm pretty content with the minutes etc, and getting bonus minutes is pretty much useless to me (I pretty much use ~100 weekday minutes, and about 500 weekend minutes) a month. I mainly use this phone to txt/email/bbm.

    Thx!

    Hey all,

    Here's my situation:

So I called with intention to cancel. I told them how I wanted to switch to Bell, and also get the new Blackberry Bold 9700 at their new customer price. I got transferred to retentions, and this is what they offered me:

Blackberry Bold 9700 at promo price, so $299 + $35 activation

    $50 + government fee + tax , including
    - 200 mins
    - Unlimited E/W from 6PM
    - 500 MB
    - Unlimited text
    - Caller ID

What do you think? I think it's a great price for the bold that they are offering me, especially since I have a little under a year left on my account and I am only tier 1 (I am currently on the $17.50 EPP plan)
I'm thinking if I call back, I can maybe get free VM or unlimited R2R, or at least the $35 activation fee waived, or is that asking for too much? :P

^ mentioned Bell's new pricing for the 9700 at 229. Tell them Bell agreed to pay your cancelation fee and give you the 9700 at 299, and tell them you lost your current phone so you need a new one and will cancel with them if they don't match Bell's offer. It should work...

Retention can always bend the rules. Call *611 then tell that telus offer you a better plan and you want to cancel.

P.S. You need to add data to HUP any smartphone (You can always cancel it for $100)

Got this today from retentions. Took a lot of bargaining and even had a manager approve the changes.

    350 Daytime minutes - $20

    Unlimited Incoming Calls - $10 ($10 credit)
    Caller Id, Voicemail & 2500 Text - $10
    500 MB Data for Blackberry - $25 ($5 credit)

For those wanting an update or in a similar situation:

I ended calling back a couple of times, and ultimately went with this:

    HUP/Retention:
    $299.99 + $35 for the Blackberry Bold 9700

    $50 + regulatory fee + 911 fee + tax:
    - 200 minutes
    - Unlimited E/W from 6pm
    - 500 MB
    - My5 Canada-wide
    - Caller ID
    - Voicemail
    - 2500 texts

I will try to change the My5 Canada-wide to some long distance minutes. But I am very satisfied

This is my plan, after many calls (about 8) to customer relationship this is what I got.

It is a family plan, the limit is 5 lines per family plan, but they made an exception and allow me to have up to 7 lines (I think they upgrade me to a business plan in order to do this)

    Plane Name: Family Plan 55 - 1000 Sh. Msgs - $25.00
    # of lines: 6

    =Each line includes:=
    100 Bonus Shared Minutes
    Unlimited Eve/Wknd Minutes
    6pm Early Evenings

=Each line Additional Services (included in the montly price)=
    Detailed Billing
    Between Us Calling Canada Wide
    1000 Shared Messages
    Van./Vic. Rate Following
    200 Pooled Wkday Minutes

    =Each line Additional Charges=
    $15 My 5 Canada Wide
    $8 Caller ID
    9-1-1 Emergency Access Fee - $0.50
    System Access Fee - $6.95

    =Each line Discount(s) =
Extra 100 Bonus Minutes (each line)
$15 Monthly Plan Credit 3 Yr - To be removed on 27/10/2012
$5 Monthly Plan Credit 3 Yr - To be removed on 05/06/2012
Free 6pm Early Evening Student Disc

    So each line I paid:
    $25 (mthly fee)
    + $15 (My5 Canada wide)
    + $8 (caller id)
    - $15 (credit)
    - $5 (credit)
    ____________
    Total per line: $23 + 911 + SAF

The nice thing is that since it is a family plan we share all of our minutes wich including the extra bonus minutes will be 400 minutes per line, that will give us 2400 minutes monthly to share among us, but we most of our calls are among the plan member plus each line has my5 canada wide and free evenings and weekend @6 so we have lots of minuts left every month.

if I remove My5 and caller ID with the montly credit $20 (15 + 5) then we would pay only $5 montly per each line!!

Also two of the lines I added 6gb $30 data plan, and they HUP upgrade me all my phones.

I am really satisfied with my plan now!!!
