i called in regaring the lca change and expressed my dissatisfaction and i went from 100 ld minutes from the previous lca change to 1000 ld minutes at no charge (10 dollar credit) at the customer service level.

pretty happy with my outcome, as i was always near the borderline of my 100 ld minutes allocated when i am visiting nearby cities (my plan is essentially fool proof for me)

this is a lil more than i pay with teus but service i get with telus is going downhill since i moved more north of the city and i will be getting 15 % off with cable internet homephone discount.

this is very expensive but i need better service, im just hoping i will get better deals further into my contract...

    thanks
    frank

Judging by your signature, I'd like to know after your next bill if your getting charged for your long distance. Only reason I say this is because I've seen the 1000 LD Retention offer conflict with a My5 CanadaWide.

That's a good plan. Except if you would've waited until June (about 3 months) when the next gen iPhone will come out they'll probably have the $30/6GB data plan available too.

I want the same, 5.00 credit on the 150 mb plan. Here is what I'll try to doing.
I'll ask for 5 off my current 500mb plan, after a little while (1 month or so), I'll ask to be switched to the 150mb in the hopes they not see and remove my existing credit of 5.00
...if for whatever reason my sentences do not make a lot of sense...if you see it that way, just read it once more, once more and once more...

When I added 100 LD minutes the retentions rep told me the system has been updated to allow these features to co-exist (or called being "stackable").

I have had one billing cycle and indeed, I used LD minutes outside of My5 Canada-wide and I was not charged for them.

We should close the book on this issue.

I did the same thing a year ago by porting 2 numbers from Bell to a family plan. I call in 1 week later to say I was cancelling to get through to the retentions department (you have 15 days with less than 30mins usage to cancel and return). I basically told them that Bell was offering me this and that to get me to come back and I needed them to match for me to stay. Ended up getting the 1000ld on both lines, a bonus 200 mins and $25 monthly credit so I stayed. Be very polite but the threat to cancel and return the phones must be the truth or you won't get anywhere. Also, do lots of research first to understand what might be plausible to get. If you ask for the moon they will just cancel for you.

I have only been with Rogers for 14 months and don't have any other services with them other than wireless. When I first signed up, I called retentions the 1st week and got the 1000ld on 2 lines, 100 bonus each line and a $25 monthly credit by being very polite and telling them that I was cancelling to go back to Bell if they wouldn't give me the above (I wasn't kidding). I'm on a family plan with 2 lines. Just now, with my 14 months in I HUP'd both lines to BB9700 at new customer pricing and enhanced my plan as below. I've seen better, but with only 14 months in and no other services I'm content.

    Family Share (2 lines):
    400 shared daytime
    100 bonus daytime each line
    5pm weekends and evenings free
Canada wide airtime and ld free between lines

    each line also has:
    call display
    enhanced voicemail
2500 sent / unlimited incoming txt
1000 long distance anytime Canada wide
    500mb data

Total after all fees, taxes and discounts is $101.16 / month.
For 50 bucks a line all in, I'm happy for another 12 months. My wife and I never have any overages with above.

Seeing as how you work for telus (could be wrong), you probably know your way around talking to csr's. Care to share what strategies did you use to get that plan. I personally have dealt with retentions on many occasions and find it hard to get them to bend over and hand out such a plan as yours.

Regardless, that is definitely a sick plan.!

I was straight up very polite and asked them to match an EEP plan that was offered at my gf's work and they did. I had to fax in the offer as proof though.

It had nothing to do with me working at TELUS, it's all about how you present your case as retentions deals with every situation case by case.

Just be nice and never use the attitude: give me this or I will cancel...

Agreed. My rules, don't ask what they can do for you but at the same time don't tell them what you want exactly. Its a delicate balance in between that will get you that sweet plan.

    250 Mins, E/W @ 6PM, 2500 Messages, CID, VM, 6GB = $65
    $65 + 6.95 SAF + 0.75 911 = $67.70
    $72.70 - $26.95 Credits = $45.75 + TAX
