    Help! Slight Emergency with 7100i

Hey all, I left home for the week-end, (100 miles), with my somewhat new BB 7100i, (haven't bought any extras yet), and I forgot to grab the AC charger on the way out.

After noticing I was without the charger, I thought I was ok since I was coming back home sunday afternoon and figured the battery would hold up long enough to get back on the charger.

Well, come to find out, I'm now stuck away from home until tuesday, with no way to charge my phone.

I'm in a somewhat rural area with only big box type of stores around. Are there any solutions at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Rite-Aid, etc. as far as an AC charger, or car charger that I can grab? And, if not, would any BB ac adapter with same connector work? Maybe 7100 series from different provider, (other than Nextel), or different model BB? (I might be able to locate a mom & pop cellular provider somewhere in the area).

Thanks for any info you can provide.

The 7100i and all other BB are charged via mini-USB.

Any new MOTOROLA charger will work--those used for the RAZR work perfectly.

    This is what I use.

Thanks! I was hoping for a simple solution! I was expecting some type of special charger that could only be obtained at an authorized Nextel/BB seller. (Usually the case when I get caught up in these type of predicaments!).

If you travel with a laptop, you can charge from the USB with the min-USB cable, provided you have BB Desktop installed. You dont need to ever sync with it, but you have to have it installed to enable the USB charging.

Ok, found a Belkin car charger today. I breathed a huge sigh of relief. Looked for an ac adaptor, but didn't see anything that would fit. As I was about to walk away, I noticed a package with an ac/dc adaptor that "allows any car charger to plug into any standard wall outlet". Bingo! It's made by Talkworks, a company I've never heard of.

My BB was down to 0% this afternoon, but was still functioning. How's that for cutting it close?

Thanks for the suggestions with my emergency. I was almost in a panic yesterday.

When you get a chance, get the OEM charger. Glad the Belkin worked for you, it do not for me.

For some reason Belkin and BBs do not seem to get along traditionaly. I have a few friends that have tried several Belkin products along with their BBs to no success, including me, this weekend I bought a Belkin bluetooth adapter (which is on the Windows approved list) and it would not recognize my BB, it will find any other bluetooth device I try to pair with it but does not like my 7250. So you are lucky it is working for you at the moment but I would look for an OEM ASAP.
