PN-215 (Audiovox 8915), can connect, but can't write to certain directories

MODs and forum users: Yes, this is a repost of my previous thread, but I had posted the original under the Verizon Wireless provider child forum for audiovox phones, and continued reading around here makes me think that this is the forum for this type of discussion instead of the other one.

I apologize for the duplicate post....but anyhow, the meat of my post, please merge/delete the other thread to your liking:

OEM data cable connecting phone to USB
Using drivers included in PCSync 1.2
QPST detects phone, can view file system
BitPim does not detect phone, but when configured to look at correct port I can view file system.

I can copy files to and from directories not related to images or ringtones, but recieve errors when attempting to write to the "ringers" directory or to the pics directory (forget the actual paths, it's not plugged in ATM).

BitPim error: "The value read should be a constant of 89, but was 19 instead."
QPST error: states that the file was copied, but an error occured when writing the create date. File is not seen on the phone after a refresh.

Everything I have read points to the Verizon 'lockdown' on ringtone and image directories, but I haven't been able to locate a resolution.

Here's to hoping that after 5 hours of fiddling with this, it's only a matter of my Google skills sucking.

    No ideas?

Heck, I'd even take a confirmation of, "it can't be done because <XXXXX>," or, "we haven't figured out how."
