Wasn't Verizon supposed to announce new plans on January 12?

Yes....I heard also that the current promos have been extended to the end of the month as well....I think until Feb 2nd.
Whatever the new promotions, it won't be less than what is offered now @ $35 or $40 per month depending on market w. the AC plan (300).
As my VZW agent, "guess who's really paying for these new hi-tech phones that others & you are practically getting for free with trade-in, credits & rebates every 10 months" on top of my commission.
Got a point there !!![]()
Yes, that agrees with this recent thread that I found through a little more searching:Originally posted by pattwak

I just got an email today saying that some of the promos have been extended through March 31st. Our new matrix should be out sometime later this week, I'll keep everyone updated when I get the new info.![]()

It's been asked a zillion times, but is there any new word on when the new phones will actually arrive (northern California)?
I doubt it because with the Single Rate East plans, you can roam on non-preferred partners of Verizon for free and Verizon has to pay-up to the other carriers. On the AC Plan, you only can use Verizon's network and roam on preferred partners of Verizon and you would be charged to roam on non-preferred partners.Originally posted by AL904a

The reason the West has the single rate plan and not the east is because coverage isn't as good in the west as in the east on the AC Plan, so Verizon has to offer them a more appealing plan in order to attract more customers as well as keep current customers.
I used to have the Single Rate East Plan over a year ago. It was good, but I'm more happy with the AC Plan since I can travel to Florida which was not part of the Single Rate East plan and also to Las Vegas and not pay extra. I travel a lot and have never been charged roaming.
For the zillionth time then, "NO!"Originally posted by Life-Is-Good

When they come out, they come out. This is not the thread about new phones...its about new plans. I hate when threads start to go off-course. Either find a thread about new phones or create a new one of your own.
That's interesting! I have single-rate east in Florida, and I can roam without extra charges in New York (and every state that borders the Atlantic Ocean.)I used to have the Single Rate East Plan over a year ago. When I had SRE in a year ago, it went from Maine to the SC / GA Border. I was charged roaming when in Florida. I think the difference is at that time, you did not need a tri-mode phone, although I had one (a star tac 7868w). Florida is one of the few areas of the country that uses 1900 MHz on the Verizon network. So someone who lived in NY and had a dual mode phone and traveled to Florida....his/her phone would not work on their network since it only works in 800Mhz digital and analog and Verizon did not want that person to roam on someone else's network for "free" since Verizon would incur the charge. A person who lives in Florida would have to to purchase a tri-mode phone from Verizon there so he/she can use in in Florida (1900 Mhz) and all the way up to Maine.Originally posted by AL904a

This is why on the AC Plan, Verizon requires a tri-mode phone now.
That is right. In order for a Florida subscriber to get Single-Rate-East, he/she had to have a tri-mode phone.

I am only saying it like that because people keep asking the same question. No one knows when Verizon will come out with new phones until just a few days before the release. Also, it would not hurt to take an extra 5-10 minutes searching various threads and posts and you may find what you are looking for instead of repeating and repeating and repeating which also costs Howard more money when he keeps having to upgrade his server which means more pop up ads for us if you decide not to donate. Then, if you can't find what you're looking for, then by all means, create a new thread and post your question or findings. I also hate when people start changing the thread topic and then it goes way of course and then people have to search pages and pages of 1 thread to find what they might be looking for. I don't mean to offend anybody here.Originally posted by ilvla2
