I ordered The MDA last thursday the moment I noticed it back on the upgrade page at T-Mobile.com. I paid the super fast UPS delivery charge so my package arrived today but when I opened it I found that they had shipped me the SDA instead of the MDA When I called Customer Care the represenative informed me that they were aware of a problem on there end that had effected several customers and that I would be getting a call from someone from T-Mobile by the end of the business day today. Are any of you one of the unlucky customers who also experienced this T-Mobile Screw Up?
Same here. I was so excited over the weekend thinking I was getting my new MDA on Monday. UPS man came, popped open the box and out came an SDA! My heart just sank!
So I called and was advise someone would call me, still no call. So I called back just a minute ago and the lady explained it happened to about 800 customers who ordered MDA's and got SDA's. From the notes she was reading it sounds like they have already shipped the MDA's (although she could not find a tracking number) to the effected customers and will be calling us with instructions on returning the SDA. Oh well, ain't much else I can do until they call with the full details...
Happened to me too. ordered thursday. i didnt get the express shipping and was told it would arrive by his thursday, friday the latest. boy was i happy when what i thought was my mda came today. and boy was i mad when i opened the box.. same situation.. yadda ydadda rep will call me ... blah blah blah..yakity yack. lol.. still no call and i dont anticipate 1 today. as long as it comes by friday i wont be too upset as thats my original arrival date. i will be using this as leverage to get a better price.

If this happens to me I can't even imagine how hostile I will be when I talk to them. First they give me a number across the US, then the sales rep quotes the unavailable 20$ a mont plan. I am unable to get any sort of reimbursement for the time wasted in trying to fix those issues.
I can't help but laugh guys. Especially when you open the box and your heart just breaks! But seriously let me tell you this once you do get the MDA you'll love it. It does everything you want it to do. Its kind of slow at times but as you can see on my today screens (go to the posting here in HoFo about posting today screens) you'll see I have it loaded pretty well. If you have any questions or need some free apps let me know and I'll help you out as much as possible. Hope everything works out for you! I just know I'd be B!*@#ing some people out and getting a credit or at least have them refund shipping.

Same thing happened to me. I got a SDA from UPS today rather than a MDA, and I called Customer Service and got the same explaination. So far I haven't received a phone call or text message from T-Mobile, but I got the impression they were just shipping out the MDAs. I would't be surprised if I didn't get a call but the MDA arrived yesterday or the next. If they just put in a return shipper and tell us to just put it in the box and retur it, butat would make the most sense.
I'm sorry to hear that some of you are also going through this nightmare of a situation. Dang! I was following the tracking every hour on the hour :-) I just got off the phone with customer care and they wouldn't even let me terminate my contract saying that I had to wait until they got the phone back!!! It was a bluff that I was going to take to the very last second :-) But still. Anyway she offered me $10 of my monthly plan. Whatever, it's not the plan it's the phone and I want it. We'll see how it all shakes but I don't think that they have 800 phones laying around to take care of all of us.
I spoke with customer service earlier and even though mine hasn't arrived, they said it is indeed an SDA as well. The rep blamed it on a computer encoding error but claimed they had the MDA in stock & would send them to everyone EXPRESS shipping for no additional charge.
He also said I have to wait until I recieve the SDA (tomorrow supposedly) before they can take any further action so I'm kind of stuck at the moment.
Geez..It just happened to my friend too. He was all hyped to get the MDA and he wound up gettin the SDA. Not to get anyone all worried, but 800 people..c'mon now..I would think T-Mobile would definately put a few extra hundred people on backorder..
I can't even believe at this point that over 800+ people ordered it. The phone is doing WAY better than expected.
