    MP3 Ringtones with Telus LG 8100

    Hi all,

    If you want to to use your own mp3 ringtones with your new TELUS LG 8100, do the following using BitPim:

    1) Upload your mp3 ringtones to the folder /brew/16452/mds.
    2) In the /dload folder, delete the files "aod.dat" and "aodsize.dat".
    3) Reboot your phone.
    4) Your new mp3 ringtones now appear in your downloaded ringtone list - works like a charm!

    Please note, try to keep your mp3 files 30 seconds or less.

    Cheers

    I'm not certain, I don't own a 5450 and haven't played with the file system. Do a search for 5450 on the forums and you may find an answer.

    I got a miniSD for my LG8100 for Telus and am was able to get music, pictures and video to the phone.

    However, I cannot figure out how to change the ringtones!!

    How do I upload my ringtones to the folder you mention? I tried this using the miniSD card but it didn't work. Do I need a USB cable to do it directly from the computer?

    re: Mini SD card and music files

    [QUOTE=visa128]

    Hey there visa128! I bought an SD card as well and i'm having prblems getting my music on there. I beleive I converted my files to .MP3 because the ones that I converted are much smaller than the original ones that I ripped from the CD. What could I be doing wrong? is it a program issue? what conversion format would you suggest? I have 1 song that is in true MP3 form, (on my Pc when I click on the song it asks me what program would I like to open it up with)..other than that one. All the others have the .mp3 suffix but the phone does not read any files in my music folder. Can you help?

    thanks
