I tired searching the forums, but the search option is down. I read the 1st 3 pages of the verizion and motorola forums, but did not see anything on this topic![]()

I heard a CDMA version of it was rumored but there's no hard evidence of it.

not to make you more jealous.....but i just got the SLVR for my cingular personal account (have a treo700w for my corp. vz account). Anyway, after previously having a GSM v3 razr , i must say that the Slvr is waaaay better than the v3.....itunes (has replaced my ipod nano)....there is a 1000 song hack on hofo on how to do a seem edit to eliminate the built in 100 song restriciton that cingular put in the software. Also, the phone really is only a half inch longer than a closed razr. and it is most definitely thinner. and battery life is even longer than my old razr which is amazing since the razrs batt. life was incredible......i can listen to at least 3 hours of music on my slvr and still have more than half of the battery life left for calls.....
hopefully vz will get the slvr soon...
if not, you can always buy one unlocked on www.myworldphone.com and just get a prepaid sim from either cingular or t-mobile and use it as a backup phone, ipod nano replacement, or both!
And yes, the SLVR will NOT come to Veriz as it is GSM and not a CDMA. And there is no rumored CDMA version of the SLVR. A thin powerful phone for Verizon is the Q - a "razr" -styled Smartphone with QWERTYhopefully vz will get the slvr soon...

Yes. There is a SLVR variant being developed for CDMA. End of summer/early fall release. You can call it rumor because I cannot provide any evidence but it will happen as I described.
how can you be so sure of this? i heard a while back about this being a possibility, but where are u hearing this.Originally Posted by fincher
also, everyone who is excited, if this phone ever is realeased on verizon, it will not replace your ipod because it will have the verizon ui and verizon music, NOT iTUNES, and that i can garauntee. unless alltel comes out with this too and with itunes or we can figure out how to get itunes off and everything, its not gonna happen. cingular has an exclusive deal with itunes, i dont no if apple will just give it to other carriers. should be interesting
Well the ROKR E2 didn't have iTunes on it. I'm thinking Motorola can just make a phone to fit the carrier's wants. The can make a CDMA version of a phone like the ROKR or SLVR and put whatever music service the carrier wants on it..Originally Posted by jblista
SLVR L7c? Hmm..
And correct me if I'm wrong, file space is the only song "limit" on the VCAST Music phones...
I can be quite sure of a CDMA version being developed. As for iTunes or VCast, I have no idea. Methinks it won't be iTunes for Verizon -- but that's purely a guess. As for the song limit on the Cingular version, we all know that's simply the deal cut by Apple and Motorola.
The nice aspect is the CDMA version is likely to be an improvement over the current GSM version just as the V3c is an improvement over the original V3.

since when is an uglier keypad with no dedicated menu button and the verizon ui an improvement?Originally Posted by fincher

The next generation (the ones running Motorola's new UI) loses the middle menu button anyway..
The improvement is going to be on Motorolas side rather then VZW since moto builds it, and speaking from experience, most GSM to CDMA phone models get better technologicaly.Originally Posted by ThE GrEAt OnE
As far as the keyboard...how did that get uglier if it's exactly the same?
UI's can be changed, as many here have proven over and over again.
All we need is to get the CDMA version into our hands. We'll take care of the rest.
the keypad isnt the same if you look at the pics of the gsm razr the keypads look a lot better than the cdma version
