Is there a way to record voice calls with your L7 when you're in the middle of a call with someone?
If not is it possible to be on a call with someone and then call a third party from your L7 and then link the two conversations so that the first person you were talking to and the person you called and you are all talking in one call?
I couldn't find anything in my L7 manual.
Please help.

In terms of what i can comment on for the software side of it, I'm using a MetroPCS Black L7c on VZW. That's why I haven't started the Official thread yet.
From using the past as a resource, I highly doubt (but really wish) Verizon would release 2 of the same phone.Originally Posted by pgsmith
One version being Silver with the Verizon UI for most of their customers.
A second one for being black with the Moto UI on it...for all us on the forum. Could be called "The Howard Edition." lol
We can only wish.
Tried to make it happen. Not going to happen. VZW UI is simply job security for BREW engineers at Verizon. And they intend to keep it that way.Originally Posted by andahawk

I'm still in favor of limiting the UI to low-mid range phones. The upper level phones could have the option to turn them off. Non-tech savvy customers are the target of the standardized interface, and they likely won't be buying the higher end devices anyways. It would be a win-win situation.
Verizon does it in reverse... their policy is to ensure high-end (EV-DO) phones have VZW UI, and low-end (1x-Only) is simply optional.
And, this does make sense to a bit. VZW UI has a primary goal of selling more premium content. Verizon's surge in Data ARPU confirms this. EV-DO phones are much more likely to sell premium content, hence Verizon's "demand" to put VZW UI on all EV-DO phones.
I'm new here so I don't know much yet, but why isn't everyone who is so anxious to get one ordering it from Wirefly.com? The seem to be free and they have the black ones. Is there something wrong with that site?
Just got an unlocked L7c (black) that I ordered online, was able to activate it and it makes calls, but the phone says it is always on 1x and roaming. Is this a problem with the non-vzw phone?
1) The phone probably isn't black. Wirefly is just using Verizon's press photos, which are all in black. They will probably update it with silver pictures once Verizon gives them copies of their photos.
2) Upgrading with Wirefly is a real pain... just better to wait until stores and vzw.com stock it for an existing customer.

I already dialed *228 and used options 1 and 2 at least twice each, it always says Activation Successful and "Commit OK!". However my phone will not connect to EV-DO at all.Originally Posted by luiset83
the PRL is fine, but the ERI (Enhanced Roaming Indicator) needs to be loaded manually. Out of curiosity, when you *228, does the phone have the EV-DO PRL or the 1X PRL. Also, if I remember correctly, some carriers disabled EV-DO on the L7c due to complications so perhaps that is the case on your phone. Check the EV-DO setting by following the instructions for turning off EV-DO but do the reverse if it's not already done.
Is the ERI unique or different between EV Moto phones?
On another note, the L7c is very identical to the K1m, at least in terms of being 'locked' in the same way:
notable facts so far:
1) seem edits for the Moto UI ring styles don't take (much like the K1m), bluetooth seem enabled out of the box, thus works with MPT but can't transfer mp3/mid files to the phone, nvm folder is locked
2) phone is vibe+ring capable out of the box
3) speakerphone is very clear
4) even though the menu button is smaller, it seems easier to push without hitting the up/down/left/right directionals, in comparison w/ the V3c/V3m
5) bluetooth OBEX + OPP out of the box, except OBEX is heavily locked... can't transfer mp3 or mid files at all to the phone.
6) I successfully added ringtones by following this post:

I finished this post by posting from the L7c's DUN connection over bluetoothWorks using the usual hack with QPST service programming since the nvm folder is locked out.
only gripe so far is the flimsy cover for the mini-USB port that seems easily breakable, more so a bit of an annoyance, actually, 'cause i don't feel it's needed
