Flashing to the cricket firmware does away with that. The only bad news is that tethering (dialing #777) errors out, much like the E815's with .03 firmware. ##DIALUP does nothing on this firmware.Originally Posted by backdown00

The tetherned NAI sticks, that's not the issue. Bluetooth or USB cable, it's the same result. It's the same restriction that the original Verizon firmware for the E815 firmware had, which means that attempting to dial #777 (or *99***1# for that matter) results in ERROR. You could still call a free ISP with your minutes, but it'll be very slow.Originally Posted by pgsmith
I looked on the Cricket forums here, and it seems this is an issue for most if not all cricket phones (a firmware restriction)
yes it is a little slow, but clear all your texts frequently. The more that build up, the slower the phone will be.Originally Posted by backdown00

Yes, everything else works. See: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...42#post8989480Originally Posted by backdown00
Keep in mind that DUN works for the original Verizon firmware. I'm also willing to bet that the Alltel K1m Monster firmware will take, considering the VZW K1m Monster firmware did. I might try this myself and hope I don't end up with a brick.Originally Posted by pgsmith

Exactly the same as http://mark.cdmaforums.com/Monster2.htmOriginally Posted by backdown00
As for reverting, you could flash the VZW K1m Monster, and then follow it with the VZW L7c upgrade. As reported by corys00, VCAST Music did not work for him by doing this. There is a thread about this as well:

Luiset,
Wonderful news and great write-up on what works and what dosent that makes this phone the best contender so far when I am ready for an upgrade.
My SLVR just arrived, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed.
I'm not big on all the multimedia stuff on my phones, so VGA cameras and features of that nature don't really bother me. My main concern, when buying this phone, was the menu lag, which doesn't seem bad, to me.
Motorolas have come a long way with their implementation of the Verizon UI. My previous experience with a Motorola featuring the Verizon UI was the V3c, at launch, which was terrible. The software on that phone, at launch, was frustratingly slow. The L7c is pretty snappy, in comparison, and quite usable.
I think I'll be using this phone for awhile.

I think people need to understand that Motos tend to be slow no matter what UI they are running. Go to the GSM boards and you will see people constantly complaining about how sluggish the native UI is. A girl who works with me just got a RIZR from T-Mobile and the phone is painfully slow to respond. Great for older folks who may have slower reflexes but can be annoying for lots of others. Not everybody can adjust to it.
