I am not looking at ebay, as I dont care to pay the same price for shipping as I paid for the card.
(Why are they charging 25-40 bucks for these? It weighs absolutely nothing?!)
And to answer your question it is because it is new technology.
Most phones only support up to 512 anyways.
No. They can support any size format, even a teraflop if and when they are made. As long as the contacts and size of the card is the same it will work.Originally Posted by Caliphane
Look at the second bullet point. "The microSD / Transflash cards are universally compatible"

Also there have been many people on here saying the 1gb cards work the same as the 512 but simply store more data.
The only reason why the mobile companies say up to 512 is more a marketing and technological stand point then anything else. As 1gb is now a new technology and was not around back then. Also they want to inform us consumers how much storage the phones have, as the vast majority of us no longer do our research and just buy whatever we are told is best.
1gb was not around so they couldn’t have a market slogan like, “up to 1gb of memory!”
Oh and the new technology does not explain the high price for shipping.
Now back to the original reason why I posted this bulletin.
The stores I keep coming across are on backorder.
The sandisk only recommend a 512mb...I don't know why when other members here saying, can use 1gb but web site said it doesn't. Need a firmware upgrade?
I ordered mine from Fry's on thursday and received it today (monday).Originally Posted by Zippy_20_03

Looks like you got lucky; they are out of them now. What a difference 3 days makes. Its nice they charge practically nothing when compared to ebay.Originally Posted by DrKnute

got my card yesterday, works great with my d600.
none of the froogle clown has it in stock YET, dont waste your time.
As far as ebay is concerned a seller that sells for a dollar and charges say $40.00 shippping is trying to get around the final value fee eBay charges for their item. eBay dose not charge that fee for shipping. However if the item is only worth say $40.00 and weighs only 1 oz and they are selling it for $40.00 AND charging $40.00 shipping then that seller is violating eBay's TOS and they face being band from eBay.
go here for a sale on buy.com
http://www.buy.com/retail/Product.as...401&adid=17662
$29.95 after rebate and free budget shipping.
I must say I don't recall having insulted you on any occasion. I simply did a Google search for a 1GB card and there was a site (however backordered) on froogle. However, if I must be a clown for trying to help then so be it.Originally Posted by noobody

This may sound like a stupid question but is a micro card and a mini the same thing?
