yea, I think it's faster with the card reader. So I just ordered the one from that link; $5.00 one nice. Oh and another thing when I was transferring mp3s into my mass storage, I got a text message and the ring sound was cracking up really BAD. badbadbad cable.

anyway, thanks to all of you guys answering my question!

I have usb2.0 sandisk reader... it copy data much more faster than the cellular phone attached to the usb cable.

Just got two 1Gig MicroSD cards from BestBuy on Sunday. Retail price was $89.99, but when they rang it up, I got $18 off each of them so each were $71.99 each.

I usually just stick it in the SD adapter and put it in a card reader to transfer stuff to it. Just got one of these from CompUSA for $9.99 which lets me just plug it directly into a USB port to use.

Where did you see this? I'd like to go and have a read. I'm using a 1gb sandisk micro sd, and while everything is working just fine, I'm having problems with listening to music off the 1gb sd through my bouetooth stereo headphone(keeps disconnecting), wonder if using a 512mb might solve my issue.

Hi Ed, do you have a stereo bluetooth headset(a2dp)? Are you saying you have no problems listening to music off your transflash using the a2dp headset? If so, can you tell me what kind of headset, transflash size, brand, which firmware, sw, etc ....

    TIA

Shessh I don't want to jump on people here because they don't know the technology or marketing aspect.
The problem either lies with the phone or the Bluetooth headphones. The memory card has no say over the two not communicating. Are you sure your phone can support the Bluetooth headphones? There aren’t many phone that support those yet.

Any SIZE MICROSD/TRANSFLASH card will work!
    (64,128,256,512,1gb,2gb, 10gb, even 1 teraflop)
If they don’t work then the problem lies with the manufacturer.
Either the the card itself is flawed or the device reading the card is flawed or both.

They keep saying, “up to 512mb”, because as far as they know or when that marketing slogan was invented 1gb did not exist. Now we will see that changed to “up to 1gb” because as of yet no larger microsd/transflash cards have not been invented.

I have the d600 which supports the stereo bluetooth headphones.

And I do understand what you're saying about how it should support whatever size mem. card is available at the moment, that is why I had purchased the 1gig card myself.

But the problem is that the headphones work fine for listening to music on the phone's internal memory. And actually works for listening to music on the transflash as well, its just it disconnects(only while listening to music off the card with the headphone) and once it does disconnect it totally disables all of the bluetooth functions of the phone until the phone is restarted.

Music plays fine off the transflash through the phone's speakers and I imagine would work fine with the included wired headset as well. Issue is with the A2DP bluetooth and transflash combined. I have replicated this issue on a friend's D600 as well.

Now I'm just looking for a solution to this issue and am at a point where I'm willing to look at all, however slim, possibilities. This is where I raise the question with the mem size, thinking that past OS's(not limited to phones), have had memory limitations, and maybe the D600's OS was origianlly designed with only 512mb of space in mind and is not handling the 1gb as well. I know I'm grabbing at straws but I'm getting desperate as this was a main function that convinced me to get this particular phone.

Sorry, I feel like I'm hijacking this thread so I'll stop but any info or experiences with this issue, please share.

    TIA

i don't know anything about it, but i wouldn't think so. just think of it. cell phones are getting thinner and smaller, and they need to implement more and more features. it is obvious that the space for an external memory card must be smaller as time goes. i personally believe there would be something smaller than micro sd card in the future.

I think there is definitely a trend for increased demand of microSD cards given the number of smaller phones on the market using memory card slots. I wonder how long it will be before the 2 GB cards hit the market.
