Any way to unlock a Nokia 6680 ?

I have one coming from the UK the seller said it was UNLOCKED, but then after paying him, he said he does not think it is UNLOCKED, so said he would take $15 off to get it unlocked, however I can't find anyone or any way to unlock a 6680.

    Anyone?

That is going to @#$@# as the phone is a UK phone. I am going to have to try to resell and try to get back at least some of my $$$. No reason to have a Nokia-Brick. I would never have ordered it if it was not advertised as UNLOCKED.

yea i hate it when people do that... its not unheard of....... i know two people who have been in similar situations... one sold it back on ebay and the other one... cant remember.

Especially if it's on the Three network, you're doomed. At least with Vodafone, or Orange you can pay them for unlock codes.

The [3 Network] are going to lose customers due to this phone locking. I am also suspciuous of any phone being sold [UNLOCKED] on ebay when they are from the [3 Network]. Makes me glad i bought my from Vodafone not the [3 Network].

When i bought my 6680 it was locked to three and so much three branding everywhere. I had to sell it.

Excuse my possible ignorance, but if a phone can be locked, doesnt it stand to reason that it also can be unlocked? Just thinking of the recent troubles unlocking 6101s and 6102s, its very easy to do now. Does the 3 network have some type of new locking system which isnt Nokias? Or has Nokia devised a different way?

Hello. Please be aware of two things:

    1. I understand that you are simply asking if there is "way" to unlock a 6680. But asking anyone of the "way" - especially "free" to UNLOCK a phone here in HowardForums.com is NOT allowed. You are not a new member anymore and should have read the RULES of HowardForums.com and the STICKY post in the Nokia forum, it has been clearly telling everyone that NO UNLOCKING topic is allowed:

    http://www.howardforums.com/rules.php

    http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=120703

    2. The 6680 you are discussing here is, of course, a Nokia phone. However, it is also a Series 60 smartphone. Try to find more allowable discussions in the smartphone / series 60 forum:

    3. I have reasons to believe your avatar, signature, contact profile as well as your username are clearly plugging a business establishment. I understand where you are coming from. But our official sponsors has contractual agreement with us and it is not fair to allow activities like what you did here.
