If you clicked on the "unchecked" box, it should have checked the box and the right end of the line should have changed to enabled or On.

=lets456]Should I set it back to the original value? (ASCII value that is).
If it was my phone, I would rather change the HEX value, or check the boxes to set it back to its original state plus check the box for bit 0. I would not use the ASCII character... why? well, a period displayed in the ASCII area of P2KSeem can be either hex 00 (no bit boxes checked) or hex 2E (boxes for bits 1,2,3, and 5 checked)...

I'm running .02 right now and thinking about making the jump to .04 soon. I just am curious to see if what you did actually enabled OBEX, and also would work for .03 firmware.

Actually P2KSeem displays a period (decimal point) for any hex value that does not have a traditional (display-able) ASCII character. Look at the other bytes in the seem...lots of periods in there. The hex display or the box-checking is probably the best way to make changes since both are more definitive. If you type a period into the ASCII portion of the seem, then the hex value will change to 2E (which is ASCII period).

Ok, this is what I'll do. At lunch I'll buy a BT adapter(Staples is the closest), but I need to know what software I'll need for transfers...but I refuse to buy the software. PM me a link or PM me and I'll give you my Gmail account to send the program.

let me know. We have NO confirmed reports that OBEX works going from 03 to 04 except in the link below.
I upgraded from .03 to .04 last night in Charlotte. OBEX is NOT available (FYI...I am using a WIDCOMM Bluetooth dongle).

Just wondered if you have checked to see if the OBEX thing was re-enabled with .04? I know there has been discussion as to whether is was or wasn't.

I just called 2 stores on ohio where I live and they have the update but they are still figureing out howt o work it. The first lady gave me nothing and added me to a waiting list and the second store said "We are still figuring out how to get the software to detect the phone"

    I shall wait.

You don't have to run out and buy one... unless you REALLY NEED/WANT one...

Most cases software/drivers come with the dongles... however, we should move over to say -> Best Bluetooth Dongle? to disucss the choices, setup, etc.... also see the Stickied... http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=814351 for "how to" once you get one.

Since my V3c is working fine right now, I guess I can wait until either the store have it or it's leaked to someone to upload it. There is no rush to upgrade now, I guess. I can wait. BTW, I must be crazy, I flashed it back to .02 for no reason?!

Ok, so more and more it appers as if... .02 to .04 = OBEX... .03 to .04 = Still no OBEX?

is it a seem setting issue?

is it that the .04 firmware is just like the Vcast Patch... where it doesn't really overwite everything? and since the .03 is missing the code for OBEX, .04 doesn't put it back??

    Inquiring minds want to know...

any one care to send me their 2742 90Byte seem files? PM me.

Nope. You can't test the phone's ability to do BT Obex file transfers without a Bluetooth equipped PC or PDA.

Jury is still out on that... it appears (from the thread discsussing the firmware) that flasing from .02 to .04 still has BT OBEX enabled, where as flashing from .03 to .04 BT OBex is still missing.

someone (nick?) already posted screen shot and they look properly set, but no obex from 03 to 04. another posted screen shot that shows obex that upgraded from 02 to 04. I think the upgrade merely fixed/patched the bugs listed in message #1.
