    I did this seem:
2742 offset 0094 bit 7 off for the orange background, and I also reversed it. I only tried the backlight seem after I restored it. I am not sure. I guess Ill have to live with 20 second backlight then, or try something else.

I also 4 seem edits to accomplish the orange bg removal, but I didn't try that yet.

Put the following seems on and don't do the fix for the extenal LCD. You have a choice, pretty outside LCD or longer backlight.

    2742;0001;0A;7 on for Constant BackLight

2742;0001;69;3 on for Custom Battery Save Menu in Intiial Settings

Restart phone then do the following:

The fist seem will have added Continuous on the backlight setting in the initial setup menu. Select continuous

The second one will have added the Battery Save menu under the intitial setup menu. Now take the Custom option and set both to 20, 30 or 50 seconds (it won't let you pick continuous for some reason).

Now go to display and set the screen saver to 1 minute or more and pick a picture like air.

This combination will give you up to 50 seconds of bright and 15 seconds of dim before the display goes black.

By the way, if you go back and look at the backlight setting it will now have nothing selected. Leave it alone. If you pick continuous again you may lock the "initial setup" menu and have to reload the seem again.

If you turned the phone toward the table lamp, the keypad backlight would immediately turn 'off'. If you turned the phone back away from the lamp, the backlight would turn right back 'on'.

With the new .04 software, I noticed that the light sensor seems now to only check the ambient light level when the phone is first opened. For example, if you opened the phone with it facing away from a table lamp, the keypad backlight would come 'on', and now stay 'on' even if you turned the phone toward the lamp. If you opened the phone facing toward the lamp, the keypad backlight would be kept 'off', and stay 'off' even if you then turned the phone away from the lamp.

Has anyone else noticed this functional change?
I just played around with this and can't remember how it worked with the 02 firmware but with the battery save on if i open the phone in the presence of a light source the keypad is off and without the light the keypad is on it won't change if i change locations but if i press a button it will change ( light up the keypad if i move to a dark and off in light.) does yours not change???

ps i think that the razr and the v710 would both automatically change but am again not sure as i flashed my razr and sent back my wonderfully beat up v710

Is there any way to unstretch the outside LCD image, if I made visible?

After I got this latest flash, my bluetooth has been really faulty. Is there anyone else having this problem?

The custom option is added but it doesn't give me the option of selecting 20,30, or 50 seconds. The only option given is "reset to default"

Did you also do the one for constant backlight 2742;0001;0A;7 and select continuous the first time?

Also, are you on .04 or .04p?

Yes, I just tried it. It does seem to "re-read" the ambient light, and update the keypad backlight, if you press a button. Though, in the dark with the backlight off, it might be hard to find a button.

However, this is different from the way it worked with .02 where the ambient light level was constantly measured, and the keypad backlight responded instantly to any change in ambient light level.

I had my phone updated at the VZW store from .02 to .04. This was back before the "pirated" version become available here.

This all might not be a problem for everyone. I was just noting that it was different between .02 and .04 (have no idea what .03 did). At least for me, I noticed this because I became alarmed that my light sensor stopped working. This is how I eventually discovered that the light sensor was still working, but just differently.

I have two RAZRs - one with.03 (my wife's pink) and the other one with .04
Just like you mentioned, light sensor worked on .03 but not the same way with .04

BTW, I upgraded to .04 by myself.

Yes, I did the one for constant blacklight and selected continuous. I flashed my phone with .04p I thought, but I just brought up the S/W version on the phone and it says .04 so I'm not sure...

I thought everyone's S/W info said .04 (whether they flashed it themselves or had Verizon do it). I thought we just called the leaked one .04P because that's the name of the leaked file, (like how we sometimes call the E815's firmware 1.1E.0R, because that's what the leaked one is named - though it shows on the phone as 1.1E.00).

    I don't have a V3c though, so I'm not sure why I'm posting.

I haven't read enough on the forums to know... In that case I flashed w/ .04p since I did it myself (flashed from .03 to .02 and then to .04p)

    This thread is confusing me.
My V3c came with firmware GATW_01.15.04
Is there any way that I can determine if this is the .04P with bluetooth supported?

All of the info I have found about seem edits is written for .03 firmware... do the same seem edits work with .04 firmware? If I have .04 ( but not the .04p), do i need to flash to .04p before doing the seem edits?

Thanks for the help -- finding lots of info, just having trouble deciphering it.
