A totally new Bell prepaid package will be on the market soon.
This is the end of Solo prepaid.
The Solo brand was just recently launched in the West...
Stange decision, hey?
Don't know what the offer will look like, though...

Could you be a little more vague please? I think there might have been some minor points u actually managed to commit to. Kudos on providing absolutelly no backing to ur statement and absolutelly no way for anyone to corroborate the information though!

Sammy740: It's ironically called BlueChips...something Bell isn't.
Bell's new marketing slogan: Over promise, Under deliver.
"System Access Fees are charged by all wireless companies to help pay for the network and the ongoing software, technology and other upgrades to that network. Generally, the higher the fee, the greater the opportunity to invest in network quality to enhance your experience. Just one more reason to choose Bell. "
It would be a change for the better. The current Solo offering is more complicated than rocket science.
Instead of a credit check, you need a PhD check to make sure you can understand how to use the service...hehe

I haven't checked this section in a while, so I don't know if this has been posted yet.
Bell is getting rid of the Solo line of phones and service and adapting the Telus style of prepaid offerings. You will be able to purchase any Bell phone along with a prepaid starter kit to use on the prepaid service. I don't have pricing on the kit nor what comes with it, but this means you can use your Audiovox 8500, Samsun A500, etc all on prepaid if you wish.
Any idea when this is going to happen? Will the phone price cost the same as the no-contract monthly, or will it be slightly higher?
I think it is going to be happening very soon actually, like next month. We received a memo telling us that we should try and get rid of all our Solo cans to prepare for the new offer. From what I understand, the cost would be just the outright purchase price of the phone plus the cost of the kit.
Can you switch from a monthly plan to this one with your existing phone?
Within a week. I am sure this is in direct competition with Rogers.
ehehehehe
My sis was told at a Ottawa Bell store to come back in a week. Take that with as many grains of salt as you wish to!

You could always do this, as long as you're not on contract currently.Originally posted by -- BellBoy --

Just call customer service and they will convert you to pre-paid for $65.00 which includes $25.00 airtime. I don't know if you get to keep your phone number, though.
