Any idea how much time the phone is in the shop before it is shipped back out?
Have you tried this?

This is what you need to do:
Send the phone by itself to:
Motorola / National Service Center
5401 north beach st. #124
Ft. worth tx 76137
Include:
Your Name
Phone Number
Return Address
Explaination of problem
Upon receipt of the phone they will immediately flash it to the latest software version , if there are other problems they will look at those too. You can include as many phones as you like. I know for a fact that the Cingular Voicemail problem is software related and by the time you have the phone back everything will be working fine. Good luck!

I have not done this myself, but after speaking with about 3 Motorola CSR's this is the information I received
dude, be4 u send it, make sure u talk 2 mortorola customer S. rep. and they ll give u a code. w/out that code, motorola will not fix ur phone , they won't even touch it.
i sent my back w/ out talk to cutomer S. rep. and they just sent my phone back in 4 days, i can tell they didn't touch it at all. ( the sales person told me i don't have to call motorola at all, ****, i wasted 12 bucks 4 shipping )
and that address( from the Motorola's website right ) is not right, the CS rep. will give u a right address from CS rep.

apparently every CSR at Motorola gives different info. I asked the guy about the same thing, and he said that you dont need any authorization to send em in. Such as an RMA number. They basically said that the first thing they do when receiving the phones is to flash them to the latest software if the phone is operational
