    I'm Freaking Lost (7100g)

Hi everyone, i've been eyeing this site for awhile, awaiting the arival of my 7100g i bought off ebay. To give you an idea of my knowledge I currently own a nokia 6620 and use nokia's pc suite, and i own a palm tungsten e. My idea was to phase out my palm, and switch between my BB and 6620 (which i love by the way).

OK the problem. I receive my BB today, and the ppl i bought it from didn't clear it out, it has there address book full, and it seems there are a ton of applications. I know there something like a"wipe" to clear it out, but i dont really know where to find BB apps so i wouldn't mind keeping them till i figure out what they do.

I guess my question is where do i start? Should i go ahead and do a complete "wipe" and if so how do i do it. OR should i just delete all their contacts and change the owner?

Sorry if i seem retarted, I'm really not, I've been watching the forum for a couple of days, i made it 1/2 way thought the BB 101 on blackberry.com, and I'm still just lost.

    please help

You need to download the BB Desktop Manager...it will allow you to pick and choose which applications you want to add or remove...

I dont know if there is a "wipe-out" button or option...

For the address book...you can probably juss delete them manualy (each one individually)...i'm not sure if there is a way to do a multiple delete...

    Wirelessly posted (nuclear signal: BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

Go into OPTIONS, SECURITY OPTIONS, GENERAL SETTINGS, click on the trackwheel and select "wipe handheld".

This will remove all personal settings and info from the previous owner. It will not wipe the operating system from the device.

Odd that the previous owner neglected to do this themselves....

If you want to use data apps, email and web yes. You need to add a BlackBerry Data Plan.

With Cingular you're supposed to have a data plan with the Treo also, $45/mo; however I've heard that some are using MediaNet with their pda. Good luck!
