    Question

    Hey all!

New to the board and have a newbie question. I understand that you can access your cell phone voicemail from a landline phone for free (within calling area) with Rogers Wireless?. I got the info on this from another board but forgot. Any help on this would be great! tia.

It's not as simple as that. If you have a GSM phone that doesn't have the voicemail deposit number programmed in there under the call fowarding settings, people who call you will not be able to leave any messages.

The "correct" Voicemail number for Sask is +14035613172. This number is based in Calgary. Not sure where "4037141188" is coming from.

Was that snark? Or do you just believe that nothing ever changes with Rogers? :P

I can say, with great confidence, that +14037141188 is a new voicemail retrieval number for midwest Canada. That includes Saskatchewan, right?

Do you think I just pulled all those numbers out of my butt?

    damn know-it-all kids these days.

It's coming from a Rogers rep. I phoned just last night, and that's the number that they gave me for the prairies, too.

My VMR is set to 604-618-1188, although both seem to work.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband.

Don't send me PMs for questions that can be asked publicly.

Rogers sent me a flyer today that has this toll-free phone number to retrieve voicemail "from anywhere." The number works for both Rogers Wireless and Home Phone.

    1 87 ROGERSVM (1 877 643-7786)

Toll-free means no long distance charges. Toll-free means it's a free call from any payphone. (Don't ya wish it lets ya call back within the vm system?) Does it work outside Canada -- can someone check?
