mounting k750 or w800 back plate on a w810?

i read through the thead and found a few ppl asked the Q but dind't see a clear answer. since the 3 speaker holes are covered up with the K750 backplate wouldn't it muffle the sound?
some guy said it didn't but then where the sound come out of?

sweet mod! i'm really considering doing this mod, however coming from a k750i, it will be kind of boring to me if my w810 looks the same.. obviously the lens can get kinda scratched up from normal use, but i heard somewhere that it doesnt affect the quality of the pictures. any truth to that?


also, are all the things on cnn.cn OEM? i'm thinking about just buying their silver k750i backcover for 12 bucks

I also did the mod today but that slider is getting stuck. I bought mine off ebay (same price as cnn.cn) and he said it was OEM parts. I installed it and looks hot. Can we say pocketable now?

Does anyone have a DIY guide for disassembling the W810's housing? I've been thinking about doing this mod, but now I'm thinking about waiting and just replacing the whole housing with a new white one once they are available( sometime within a week from cnn.cn)

I just took mine apart and did a full non OEM white on it.. didnt bother taking pics but I was very careful in removing ribbons and connections.

I just did it today easy easy easy, I used sandpaper after using a knife, so I could smooth things out.

Only issues is the mirror on the backplate I have is kinda messed up, but no big Anyone want to send me their silver mirror if they arn't using it?

Hi,

I have a couple of questions...

1. How much nylon do you need to stick on? One sheet?

2. Is there any other material that is better to use than nylon?

3. Can't you just use the w810 battery cover with the K750 back plate? This would solve the problem with the k750 battery cover being a slightly different colour to the rest of the phone.

@steady - you don't have to use the nylon (and only a tiny amount 25mm x 15mm) as
it's really a dust guard. You can't use the 810 battery cover s it has a different joint
face. The 750 back is straight across the battery cover joint and the 810 is wavy.
